Ghost Whisperer has been off the air for a decade already, but the show is unforgettable given the plot and the cast. The series followed the eventful life of Melinda Gordon, who, at the beginning of the series, is a newlywed living in a small town, Grandview, and, of course, bears the gift of seeing spirits that have not yet "crossed over."

ed by her husband and friends, Melinda's adventures live on in reruns. Part of the show's allure was the cast; each character was very different from one another and brought a dynamic all their own to the show. However, some were more likable than others.

Delia

Delia in Ghost Whisperer

Delia was a good friend to Melinda, but they had several ups and downs in their friendship. Delia didn't immediately know about Melinda's gift, though she'd been witness to strange occurrences. She didn't ask Melinda about it; she had a tendency to jump to conclusions and miscommunicate.

She could also be a little too hard on her son Ned, and she had a difficult time accepting Melinda's gift, always trying to rationalize the situation at hand. Delia wasn't necessarily open-minded, and she certainly wasn't like Andrea, Melinda's deceased best friend, but she tried in her own way to understand Melinda's gift.

Beth

Beth and Melinda in Ghost Whisperer

Beth was a refused to talk to ghosts.

As a result, she suffered severe headaches in refusing to acknowledge her gift. She didn't always handle things the way Melinda needed her to, but she did love her daughter, and she eventually told Melinda the truth about a lot of things, including their mutual gift and Melinda's real father.

Eli

Eli in Ghost Whisperer

Eli was introduced in the show's fourth season. He died but was brought back, resulting in him gaining the ability to hear ghosts, though he couldn't see them. He thought Melinda was crazy when he found out about her gift, but, at the time, he was too freaked out by his own newly discovered ability to be open-minded regarding what had happened to him, let alone accept Melinda and her gift.

Eli grew more accepting of his gift and Melinda's and helped people as time went on. However, perhaps he was introduced too late in the series to really develop a rapport with the rest of the cast or for his character to be further explored.

Ned

Ned Ghost Whisperer

Ned, Delia's son, actually found out about Melinda's gift before his mother did. As the series went on, he ended up helping Melinda, and, later Eli, with several supernatural things, including the Shadows and the Shinies in the final season.

Ned struggled given his overbearing mother and the loss of his father and was influenced by a spirit to steal, which is how he met Melinda. Ned wasn't perfect, and he made several mistakes, including cheating on his girlfriend, but his ion for helping others by aiding Melinda was irable.

The Spirits

Melinda with spirits underground in Ghost Whisperer

Obviously, Melinda wouldn't have much of a storyline without the ghosts she helped in each episode. Some ghosts were meaner than others, and some were desperate, wanting to help those they left behind. Melinda ensured they got the peace and resolve they needed so they could finally "cross over" and be free.

Audiences are undoubtedly sympathetic to the spirits, especially if they died tragically or were otherwise suffering. Most were very likable, and most were grateful to Melinda for her help.

Aiden

Melinda and Aiden in Ghost Whisperer

Aiden is the son of Melinda and Jim; he was born with an extra dose of abilities that Melinda herself didn't have. He can see the Shinies, for example. Though only five years old in the final season, Aiden is actually mature for his age, but that's to be expected given his abilities.

He also manages to save his mother in the series finale after she was taken over by the shadows. Aiden is an empath, and it makes him that much more sympathetic to those around him, but he's also naturally giving, much like his parents.

Rick

Rick and Melinda in Ghost Whisperer

Rick is a professor that meets Melinda in season two. He doesn't find out about her abilities right away, though he suspects that she's hiding something from him before she finally does tell him everything when he himself is haunted by an old friend.

Rick has extensive knowledge of supernatural entities, and it comes in handy for Melinda on more than one occasion. Rick can come across as obnoxious and abrasive at times, but he really does have a good heart beneath the sarcasm and a charm that gets audiences to like him despite his flaws.

Melinda

Melinda with soldier in Ghost Whisperer

Melinda was very forgiving, patient, open-minded, and understanding. She had to be, as she was someone who constantly dealt with all kinds of spirits and supernatural events. She had a close relationship with her grandmother, who acted as her guide for their shared gift of seeing ghosts, but she struggled with her mother.

Melinda seemed very open with just about everyone apart from her mother, at least until Melinda learned the truth about her biological father in season three and seemed to establish a better relationship with her mother from then on. Melinda could sometimes neglect the world of the living, as she could get too caught up in ghosts, but she always had good intentions at heart.

Andrea

Melinda and Andrea in Ghost Whisperer

Andrea was Melinda's best friend in season one, and they owned an antique store together. Andrea was previously a lawyer and had all kinds of adventures, but settled down into small-town life prior to the events of season one. She was one of the few people who knew about Melinda's gift, and she accepted Melinda for who she was, never questioning her friend's abilities.

Melinda's gift came in handy when Andrea was later haunted by a ghost, and again when Andrea was tragically killed. Andrea was fun, always trying something new, and cared deeply for those around her, making her not just a great friend but a wonderful person.

Jim

Jim Ghost Whisperer

Jim was the perfect husband; he always ed Melinda, and, in a flashback episode going back to the night they met, audiences could tell that it was meant to be from the start. Jim worried about his wife, but he also ed her in her pursuit to help others with her gift.

Jim shared the same ion for helping others, given he was a paramedic. Even after Jim was killed and later became "Sam," he eventually found a way to come back to his wife and be there for her and their son.
