Ghost of Yotei is easily one of the most anticipated games of the year, and certainly one to look out for if you're a massive PlayStation fan. It is the long-awaited follow-up to 2020's critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima, the game that more or less capped off the end of the PlayStation 4 era and somehow still remains one of the best-looking PlayStation games of all time. Yotei has a lot of expectations thrust upon its shoulders, especially with Assassin's Creed Shadows having also released this year.

While Tsushima in a lot of ways, Yotei could easily steal its throne and become a Game of the Year contender - so long as GTA 6 is delayed, of course. Fortunately, those who are keen to see whether Yotei can best Shadows don't have to wait long. We now have details surrounding not only Ghost of Yotei's release date, but also its pre-order bonuses and all of its many editions, which players can buy to unlock extra in-game items and so much more.

All Ghost Of Yotei Preorder Bonuses Explained

You Get An Avatar Set & An In-Game Mask

Ghost of Yotei's pre-order bonuses were revealed via an official Ghost of Yotei's story. Players only get a handful of items for pre-ordering Ghost of Yotei, including some PlayStation avatars based on Atsu, the game's protagonist, and its antagonists, the Onyro. You'll also get an in-game mask, which is gold and covers the sides of Atsu's face and her chin. It isn't anything spectacular, but certainly a nice bonus for hardcore fans.

Pre-orders for Ghost of Yotei will be made available on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10 am local time in your region. This will be 10 am ET for those residing in the US. You will be able to pre-order from retailers as well as directly via the official PlayStation store page.

Crucially, players won't get any form of early access to Ghost of Yotei for pre-ordering the game. In the past, other AAA titles have allowed players to start playing early as a reward for pre-ordering or for purchasing a more expensive edition. Ghost of Yotei doesn't offer that as a pre-order bonus, meaning those who want to pre-purchase it before reading reviews are really only getting a single cosmetic and a handful of digital avatars for their PlayStation . It isn't clear if these items will be made available after Ghost of Yotei is released.

Ghost Of Yotei Standard Edition Price & Contents

It's As Standard As You'd Think

The Ghost of Yotei Standard Edition doesn't offer players much in the way of additional bonuses or incentives. If you choose to pre-order the Standard Edition, you'll get the base game as well as the pre-order bonuses listed above. Unlike Ghost of Yotei's other editions, you won't get any unique in-game cosmetics or helpful items. Those who purchase the Standard Edition can later the Digital Deluxe edition if they want to, but they'll otherwise just have the base game at launch.

The Standard Edition of Ghost of Yotei costs $69.99 USD/£69.99 at launch, which is in keeping with other PlayStation first-party AAA launches. Fortunately, players won't be forking over $80 like for the extremely expensive Switch 2 releases. Of course, it is worth noting that any future DLC isn't included in the Standard Edition. It is worth mentioning that Yotei will be $10 more than Ghost of Tsushima was at launch back in 2020. However, adjusting for inflation, they're roughly the same price.

You Get The Base Game & Cosmetics

Alongside Ghost of Yotei's release date, PlayStation has also revealed the Digital Deluxe Edition for the game. The Digital Deluxe Edition is available exclusively from the PlayStation Store and consists of the base game as well as a handful of in-game items. Players who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition will also get the aforementioned pre-order bonuses. The Digital Deluxe Edition of Ghost of Yotei includes the following in-game cosmetics and handy items:

• The Snake’s armor set
• Starting armor alternate dye color
• Unique horse color
• Unique saddle dye color
• In-game charm for Atsu
• Gold sword kit
• Early unlock of Traveler's Maps

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Ghost of Yotei costs $79.99/£79.99, so just $10 more than the Standard Edition. Players can the Digital Deluxe Edition from the Standard Edition and unlock all of the listed in-game items if they want to. For context, the Traveler's Maps are an in-game item that helps players locate statues in the open world, which are used to further enhance Atsu's skills. Players will still gain access to these in the Standard Edition. Once again, players won't gain early access to the base game by purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Ghost Of Yotei Collector's Edition Price & Contents

An Impressive Physical Prop & So Much More

The big ticket item for all the hardcore Ghost of Yotei fans out there is the Collector's Edition. This comes with the base game, the in-game items from the Digital Deluxe Edition, and a handful of physical items. If players pre-order the collector's edition, they'll also get the aforementioned pre-order bonuses. It is important to note that you will get a digital version of Ghost of Yotei in the Collector's Edition, and not a physical disc. Here is everything included in the Collector's Edition of Ghost of Yotei:

• A replica of Atsu's Ghost mask - display only
• A replica of Atsu’s sash
• A replica of the Tsuba (sword guard) from Atsu’s katana
• A bag of coins and rules for the game Zeni Hajiki
• A foldable papercraft ginkgo tree
• A set of four 5 x 7-inch art cards - these feature Atsu's sash, wolf, Ghost mask, and the game's key art

The mask, which is easily the best item in the Collector's Edition, is 6.8 x 5 x 5.9 inches and made of resin. It also comes with a display stand, as does the Tsuba, which is 3 x 3 inches. Finally, the sash, which features the names of the Yotei Six, is 71 inches long and made of a cotton blend. There's a lot for fans to enjoy, especially for those who have a lot of space to display all of these items. Unfortunately, for those who prefer statues, the Ghost of Yotei Collector's Edition doesn't include one.

The Ghost of Yotei Collector's Edition will also be available for pre-order on May 2 at 10 am local time and costs $249.99/£249.99, making it an expensive buy. Of course, it does come with all of those impressive collector's items, and is described on the PlayStation Blog post as being "the best Collector’s Edition [they've] ever produced." So, for those who are really excited about Ghost of Yotei and have the money, the Collector's Edition is a great choice.
