CBS ghosts from various periods. For instance, Alberta Haynes hits it off with a famous baseball player from her day in Ghosts season 3, episode 7, "The Polterguest." Their connection made for a fun and memorable outing, even though their whirlwind romance didn't last.
Ghosts even featured Tara Reid in Ghosts season 2, episode 14, "Trevor's Body," tying back to Trevor Lefkowitz (Asher Grodman) and the story of how the ghost died. Adding new characters keeps the CBS comedy fresh. A new character will tie directly back to Isaac Higgintoot (Brandon Scott Jones), who has had a massive outing already, including a highlight in Ghosts season 4, episode 6, "The Primary Source." After the outing, which significantly develops Isaac's legacy, the promised guest character's appearance has new relevance.
Ghosts Season 4 Casts Nat Faxon As Alexander Hamilton
Alexander Hamilton Will Finally Appear In Ghosts
Midway through its current year, Ghosts season 4 finally cast Alexander Hamilton as Isaac's longstanding rival, according to a report from TV Line. The ghost of the Revolutionary War captain has maintained his grudge against Hamilton since the beginning of the series, believing the fellow Founding Father was overrated, even before hearing about the musical Hamilton, which Lin-Manuel Miranda composed about his life and accomplishments. Ghosts cast Nat Faxon as Isaac's foe, known for his roles in Maya Rudolph's Loot, ABC's The Conners, and Matt Groening's Disenchantment on Netflix, as the voice of Elfo.

CBS Ghosts: Every Spirit Outfit Ranked On How Comfortable It Would Be To Wear For Eternity
The spirits of CBS' Ghosts all come from different times that define their outfits, and some of them are bound to be more comfortable than others.
Featuring the diplomat in Ghosts' fourth outing is a worthy move. It gives the rivalry between Isaac and Hamilton the attention it warrants after Isaac's scorn becomes a running gag. The character will appear on the show in 2025, and the opportunity for Isaac to face his rival continues Isaac's Ghosts season 4 redemption arc. The character is the topic of many conversations around the house as he navigates his relationships with Nigel Chessum (John Hartman) and Patience (Mary Holland). Bringing Hamilton into the mix pokes another sore spot for the lesser-known American Continental Congress member.
Lin-Manuel Miranda Could Have Been The Perfect Hamilton In Ghosts
Lin-Manuel Miranda Starred As Alexander Hamilton In Hamilton
While Faxton will add richness to the show's rich tapestry of historical figures and stories regardless, Ghosts season 4 missed an opportunity to feature Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton. Lin-Manuel Miranda's Ghosts cameo as Alexander Hamilton would have been perfect for a few reasons. Before season 4, Ambudkar teased at San Diego Comic-Con that he wanted Miranda to play Hamilton in Ghosts, and he has asked him several times.

There's Only 1 Actor Who Could Satisfyingly Play Ghosts' First Celebrity Spirit
Ghosts season 4 will feature the ghost of Isaac's old nemesis Alexander Hamilton, and there's only one celebrity who could take on this role.
Miranda's deep connection to Hamilton would have made him the perfect cast, bolstered by the musical producer's rich knowledge of the history of the secretary of the treasury. Moreover, Ambudkar and Miranda are friends in real life, with a history of rapping together, which is why the Jay actor has prompted Miranda's guest appearance on his show season after season. However, it appears that the Ghosts actor finally put the prospect behind him, casting Faxon instead. At least Isaac will finally be able to confront his beef, and the cameo comes at the perfect time, following Isaac's quasi-successful book deal.
Why Ghosts Couldn't Cast Miranda As Hamilton In Ghosts
Lin-Manuel Miranda Doesn't Want To Appear In Ghosts
Despite Ambudkar asking him for years, Ambudkar told audiences at SDCC that Miranda had repeatedly turned him down. The development will disappoint fans of the CBS series, who are stirred by the idea of Miranda appearing as Hamilton. It's understandable, since it's easy to associate the producer with the character after he popularized him in the modern era. However, the cameo is officially off the table, with CBS posting a video of Nat Faxon and Brandon Scott Jones in costume on the set of CBS Ghosts with the caption "the guest star you've been waiting for."
Jones teased at New York Comic Con in October that Isaac would meet Hamilton. Isaac's actor suggested that Ghosts season 4 would tackle the root of Higgintoot's rivalry with Hamilton. As such, the series can justify Isaac's scorn, and the comment suggests how Faxon's character will tie into the narrative. Jones' remarks suggest Faxon will appear in a flashback to Isaac's past rather than as a ghost character. The series used a similar model to introduce Neil Crone as Ben Franklin when the philosopher appeared in a flashback that delved into Isaac's past.
