When Netflix gave Gilmore Girls a revival special, it gave all of the fans the opportunity to see how life turned out for our favorite residents of Star's Hollow. After years of watching Rory grow up (and Lorelai figure herself out), we got to catch up on all their happy (and not so happy) endings.

From marriages and missteps to Rory's search for purpose in her career, everyone is waiting to see if Netflix may continue the story with another revival that could follow them further - but in the meantime, we're taking a look at who got the endings they deserved, and who deserved a little bit more.

Deserved More: Michele

Michel smiles while at the Dragonfly's kitchen in Gilmore-Girls

Michele, the sassy French concierge at first the Independence and then the Dragonfly Inn, doesn't get a whole lot of attention in the revival. Overall, he remains a side character, concerned about his dogs and his husband. For a while, it looked like Michele might end up leaving the Dragonfly, as it wasn't big enough for him, but when Lorelai found the perfect space to expand, he decided to stay. Overall, he has a happy ending, but he deserved more screentime, if nothing else! He also really deserved more of a stake in the business, as he's been a part of it from the start.

Fitting Ending: Sookie

Sookie talking to Lorelai in the kitchen on Gilmore Girls

Sookie, the cheerful chef and best friend to Lorelai, got the definition of a happy ending. She married Jackson early on in the show, and despite their disagreements over vegetables, they were a very happy couple. She and Lorelai were able to open their dream inn, and she ended the series on a high. By the revival, she wasn't around much, but this was for more happy reasons. Her ion for food took her away from the kitchen, and into the wilderness to learn everything about growing - and she couldn't be happier.

Deserved More: Paris

Paris may not have been the most likable character, but she was far from a terrible person. She was always driven, more interested in being successful than with being popular, and for a while, that actually seemed to be going well for her! By the end of the series she was in a happy relationship and doing well in her career - but by the revival, she may have been wildly successful but her marriage fell apart. While it would probably not be the easiest thing to be married to Paris, she still deserved a little more happiness than she got.

Fitting Ending: Emily Gilmore

Emily may have been something of a monster mother at the start of the series, but by the end, everyone loved her. She was surprisingly kind and was always trying to help (in her own special way), and seeing her rebuild her relationship with her daughter was incredible.

However, by the start of the revival, it seemed like Emily was lost without her husband - and fans were thrilled to see that she found a whole new kind of happiness by the end of A Year In The Life.

Deserved More: Christopher Hayden

Christopher looking at Lorelai who looks upset on Gilmore Girls

Christopher is one of those characters who just always seems to miss out - and we feel for the guy. He wasn't around much in Rory's life as a child, but he managed to get his life together and become a part of hers over the course of the show... but other than that, he just couldn't catch a break. He kept almost getting together with Lorelai and never quite managing it, and even though they briefly married, he stepped aside when he saw how much she loved Luke. On top of that, Sherry left him with their baby after she couldn't handle motherhood.

Fitting Ending: Jess

Gilmore Girls Jesse

Jess was a controversial character, someone who didn't treat Rory the way that she deserved, but who was going through a whole lot of his own family stuff at the time... he struggled, and while he may not have been the greatest, fans were happy to see that he did finally get to figure himself out. He manages to turn his love of books into writing his own, and while the revival showed that he was clearly in love with Rory, it's great to see that he has matured to the point that he can accept her having a life of her own with grace.

Deserved More: Lane Kim

Lane and Zack at their wedding in Gilmore Girls

Lane was Rory's best friend, and for most of their teenage years, all she wanted was to get out of Star's Hollow. She had dreams of being a rock star, and became a drummer in a band... but then marriage happened. Lane ended up marrying her man-child bandmate, and the two got pregnant on their honeymoon (after a deeply disappointing encounter). Lane in the revival was a harried mother of twins, still desperately trying to find time to play, and set to live out the rest of her life in the same small town.

Fitting Ending: Luke Danes

Luke, the grumpy Star's Hollow diner-owner, was always meant to be with Lorelai, and it's perfect that they get together in the end. In fact, Luke ends up as a business owner, happily with the love of his life, with a surprise family (of sorts, between Rory, Jess, and his daughter), and with property to his name as well. Luke was always a great guy in the show, and he deserved nothing less than all this happiness.

Deserved More: Rory Gilmore

As one of the two main characters of the show, of course everyone wanted to see Rory get her happy ending... but the revival showed that her ending was anything but. While she did go to an Ivy League school and make it into journalism, in many other ways, the revival showed her to be totally lost.

She was still seeing Logan, even though that meant him cheating on his fiance, and she had a boyfriend she kept literally forgetting about. Her career stalled, she ended up back in Star's Hollow, and of course, the final words of the revival reveal her to be pregnant.

Fitting Ending: Lorelai Gilmore

Lorelai

Lorelai didn't have the easiest life, becoming pregnant as a teen and raising Rory alone. However, she kept cheerful and worked hard, and got what she deserved in the end. By the end of the revival, she owns her own inn, she's happily married to Luke, and she's doing just fine. It may have taken her a while to get there, and to repair her relationship with her parents, but it's wonderful to see that she got there in the end.
