People are only human and mistakes happen all the time, even on well-crafted and popular TV shows. Whether it's a character holding something in one shot and suddenly having empty hands in the next shot, or something small that doesn't add up, there are always going to be continuity errors.

Gilmore Girls is famous for the mother/daughter relationship and coffee consumption at the heart of it, and while fans might not have all picked out all the mistakes that are in some of the episodes, they're definitely there. Read on to find out about 10 continuity errors that fans didn't notice on Gilmore Girls.

This Pizza Mistake

The first season episode "That Damn Donna Reed" is one of the most well-known. Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Dean (Jared Padalecki) have a fight about Donna Reed because he thinks that it's sweet that a wife would make dinner for her family, and Rory wants him to be more feminist than that.

There's a continuity error in this episode: Dean comes over to the Gilmore house with pizza. In the first shot, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory are eating pizza from the pizza box. The next shot shows something totally different: Rory grabs some pizza from the full box and Lorelai isn't holding a slice anymore. This would definitely be easy to miss but now that fans know about it, this error will stand out.

Miss Patty's Earrings Change

The season one episode "The Breakup, Part 2" is a tough one for fans who still hate thinking about how heartbroken Rory and Dean are in this batch of episodes. Breaking up is always awkward but having the whole town know your business is even worse, and the threat of bumping into an ex makes things even worse.

In this episode, Miss Patty (Liz Torres) has earrings on in a scene of Rory and Lorelai having breakfast at Luke's. She talks to Lorelai about the breakup and how upset she is. Fans might not have noticed that her earrings are literally gone in one shot and then they're back.

Cinnamon, The Beloved Cat Of Babette, Has A Continuity Error, Too

Fans the charming character Babette (Sally Struthers) and the love that she has for her cat, Cinnamon. There's actually a continuity error involving this cat: season one has the cat as a male and Babette is having trouble getting him out from under her porch. But when the cat es away, everyone says that the cat is female.

Luke's Diner Looks Different In The Pilot

Luke's Diner is a staple on Gilmore Girls and there's a continuity error involving this location. At the end of the pilot, there's a shot of Rory, Luke, and Lorelai in Luke's Diner, and this is also at the end of the opening sequence. But Luke's Diner looks different in the pilot: it's a building on a crowded block in town.

In the rest of the episodes, though, Luke's Diner is on a street corner and it's super close to the Stars Hollow town square. This probably isn't something that fans would have picked up on.

The Porch At The Gilmore House Is In Two Different Places

Lorelai and Rory may rely on take-out, pizza, and Luke's to keep them fed, but the kitchen in the Gilmore house is still a pretty charming place. It seems cozy and like a place that fans would want to spend time.

The Gilmore porch is in two different places, though: the kitchen's location is on the right-hand side. But whenever anyone leaves the Gilmore house through the back door, they're on the left-hand side on the porch.

Lorelai Gets The Amount Of Rooms At Her Inn Wrong

There's also a continuity error in the season four episode "Luke Can See Her Face."

Lorelai had previously mentioned at a town meeting that there would be 10 rooms at the Inn and that would be it. This doesn't seem to be the case when she's talking to Luke in "Luke Can See Her Face" and says she's going to let her plumber know about rooms 15, 12, and 10 needing some work. In the season four finale, Richard (Edward Herrmann) and Emily (Kelly Bishop) stay in room number 12, which doesn't make sense if there were going to be 10 rooms.

The Time Period When Jess's Father Abandoned The Family Is Different

Did Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) grow up without a father or did his dad decide to disappear when Jess was the age of 15?

Fans might not be super sure about this because as it turns out, this was a continuity error and this has changed. Luke talks about Jess not having a dad from the age of 15 on... and yet as the series goes on, fans hear that Jess was an infant when the father abandoned the family.

Lorelai, Max, And Rory's Coffee Mugs Switch Colors

coffee in almost every scene. Okay, it might not be quite that prevalent, but this is definitely their beverage of choice. So it makes sense that there would be some continuity errors involving coffee on the show.

In the third episode of the second season called "Red Light on the Wedding Night," there's a continuity error involving the characters' coffee mugs. Lorelai, Max (Scott Cohen), and Rory are drinking from mugs at Luke's diner that are red and then blue.

Do Photos Of Lorelai As An Infant Exist?

Emily and Lorelai confront each other in the Gilmore residence

There's a season one scene when Richard, Emily, and Rory are flipping through some photos of Lorelai from when she was an infant.

This is confusing, though, because Emily had said Lorelai decided to take all of these snapshots and literally burn them at the age of seven. She was concerned about having a big head. Fans might not have noticed this continuity error but it's definitely a pretty glaring one.

Lorelai Holds Different Objects In The Same Scene

Fans the excitement that Lorelai and Rory felt about Rory going to Chilton in the pilot. Now she could finally go to a good school and get amazing grades and go to Harvard and have the life that Lorelai didn't have, as Lorelai often explains.

There's a continuity error in the pilot: Lorelai holds different objects in the same scene. She's chatting with Sookie (Melissa McCarthy) in the inn's kitchen. In one shot, she's holding the letter that Rory got from Chilton along with a brown paper bag and in the previous shot, she's only holding the bag.
