In FOX's hit musical series Glee, Santana Lopez (portrayed by the late Naya Rivera) was a fan favorite from the beginning for her strong-willed personality, promiscuous style, and never being afraid to speak her mind. She provided a voice to many in the LGBTQ+ community and was an incredible role model for many who were going through her character's same on-screen struggles.

But along with her many great moments come a few horribly confusing moments that either got lost in translation or just regular continuity errors! Here we have listed 10 things that make no sense about Santana Lopez!

Being In The Celibacy Club

The Celibacy Club was first introduced in season one episode two and it was run by the entire cheerleading squad, otherwise known as "The Cheerios," but it was mainly lead by The Unholy Trinity themselves Quinn, Santana, and Brittany. The club was clearly about staying pure and keeping your faith- but it becomes very clear that no one in this group is really "pure." Santana makes this even more clear by directing that the club do the balloon exercise where the boys and girls grind on each other while having a balloon blocking their waists.

Her Relationship With Quinn Fabray

Quinn Fabray and Santana Lopez started out as somewhat great friends in season one while the two of them were on the Cheerios, but that changed drastically after Quinn discovered that she was pregnant with Puck's baby and tried to cover it up as her then-boyfriend, Finn's.  After Quinn was kicked off the Cheerios, Santana started countless problems with her and the two found themselves in several arguments and even one physical fight in season two. By the start of season three, it was quite obvious that they weren't friends anymore, that was until their brief hook up in season four episode titled "I Do," which was practically a one night stand and was never mentioned again in the series.

Almost Getting Suspended

The fictional William McKinley High School very clearly didn't care too much about their student's safety or punishing bullies for being violent, but for some odd reason when Santana slaps Finn in the face for publicly outing her as a lesbian she is automatically threatened by Principal Figgins and almost gets suspended.

Yes, the countless students and Glee club who constantly had slushies tossed in their faces apparently didn't matter too much to the school board. Of course, school violence is wrong, but Santana was completely in the right for taking up for herself after being publicly humiliated in front of the entire school. Thankfully she doesn't get suspended but just the fact that she was threatened by it really doesn't make sense!

Her Lack Of Solos

Even though at first she only ed the Glee club to help Sue Sylvester have an inside eye on the club's setlists and find ways to shut them down, Santana quickly discovered that she secretly loved being able to be her true self and sing songs about her feelings. Of course, the club was full of incredibly talented singers and musicians with some more interested in the spotlight than others- it was no secret that Santana was one of the best singers in the entire group and her voice definitely had a uniqueness that the club needed. But the few solos that she was given were often pushed to the side to make room for rare performances from other talented .

Her Relationship With Finn Hudson

To say that Santana and Finn had a love/hate relationship would be a huge understatement. Their extremely rocky and downright toxic relationship really started in season one episode 15 titled "The Power of Madonna" when Santana takes Finn's virginity and later uses it to make fun of him, which then escalates to Finn publicly outing Santana in front of the entire school in season three episode 6 titled "Mash Off." The two of them definitely went through a ton of bad ups and downs but were somehow always able to find their way out of the situation and be friends again- even in some absolutely unforgivable situations.

The Troubletones

As if having one Glee club at a high school wasn't enough, Principal Figgins was directed to create a new club/group called The Troubletones after he was sent a rather large donation from Al Motta (Sugar's father) in an attempt to win over the Mercedes Jones, and Brittany Pierce.

The Troubletones constantly butt heads with The New Directions during their prime, and they even go on to Nationals as well as win the championship. But after winning the title, the girls decide to New Directions and The Troubletones aren't mentioned again until the series finale episode as it appears that the group is now revived for the new Performing Arts School aka Mckinley High School.

Her Brief Relationship With Dani

One of the many amazing celebrity guest stars featured on Glee was none other than the pop superstar Demi Lovato in season 5. Although her time on the series was incredibly short, her relationship with Santana was even briefer and came completely out of nowhere. Demi's character, Dani, worked as a waitress at the same restaurant as Santana and their relationship quickly flourished after she decided to Kurt's band called "Pamela Lansbury." Their relationship only lasted for a couple of episodes and quickly vanished without any reason or hint as to why!

Being In The "Grease" Musical After Graduating

After most people graduate high school, they tend to find themselves avoiding going back to their alma mater- but not in this series! A common pattern shown in Glee was that those who graduate will soon start to spend more time at the school afterwards just as if they had never left. One major head-scratcher was in season four's musical tribute episode titled "Grease," where the Glee club creates a musical based on the hit late '70s film Grease, but instead of giving the role of Rizzo to Unique (an actual high schooler), they randomly decide to give the role to the already graduated Santana Lopez.

How She Handled Kurt Interrupting Her Proposal To Brittany

Glee-How She Handled Kurt Interrupting Her Proposal To Brittany

One of the biggest things that fans of the show loved about Santana's character was that she wasn't afraid to put someone in their place and let them know how she really feels. But in season 6 episode 3 titled "Jagged Little Tapestry," it seems like she sort of steps away from that part of her personality and just lets Kurt walk all over her and attempt to ruin her proposal to long-time girlfriend, Brittany.

After Santana proposes to Brittany in front of the entire Glee club, Kurt stands up and says, "we are too young to get married, look at what happened to me and Blaine Anderson!" to which Santana just ignores him and celebrates her new engagement with those around her. Surprisingly, by the end of the episode, Santana finds Kurt in the hallway and tells him exactly how she feels just like she normally would- but it definitely wasn't like her to let him steal her shine and practically ruin her proposal!

Her College Money

During Santana's senior year in season three, her mother gifted her with a ton of money to start her life after high school- but since she had received a full-ride cheerleading scholarship to attend the University of Louisville it didn't really seem like she needed it. Although her mom's gifted college money is never really mentioned again nor is the way that she supposedly uses it, Santana decides to move in with Rachel and Kurt in New York as well as somehow visit McKinley High School as frequently as she wants- which apparently is a lot!
