Glen Powell is set to star in Hulu's sports comedy, The release date for Chad Powers has been announced, and the first two episodes will premiere on September 30, 2025.

Powell served as a producer and co-writer on Chad Powers, alongside Michael Waldron. He previously served as the co-writer with Richard Linklater for the romantic crime movie, Hit Man, which is considered The first images released from Chad Powers show the commitment made by Powell to match his appearance up to a disgruntled football player, and this new series sees him return to live-action television for the first time in years.

Glen Powell's character in Scream Queens was Chad Radwell, the leader of the Dickie Dollar Scholars fraternity at Wallace University, and Chanel Oberlin's boyfriend. Even though he is dating Chanel, Chad has no problem sleeping around on campus, and regularly cheats on his girlfriend with other students, including the other Chanels and new member, Hester (Lea Michele). Radwell is openly arrogant and has a disturbing obsession with necrophilia.

Powell was praised for his comedic performance throughout Scream Queens and for perfectly highlighting Chad Radwell's ego and his cowardice when dealing with the serial killer, the Red Devil, on campus. The character's popularity led to Powell returning for three episodes in season 2, where he reunites with Chanel and they rekindle their tumultuous relationship. The two become engaged, but their engagement is cut short when Chad is found dead in the season 2 episode "Handidates." Scream Queens has been regarded as one of Glen Powell's most underrated shows and allowed him to explore other roles in his career.

Since his role in Scream Queens, Powell has appeared in other television shows, but his performance in Chad Powers is his first time working on a live-action television show since his character, Chad Radwell, was killed off. Since 2016, Powell has mainly done voice work in television shows, making guest appearances on Robot Chicken (2020) and Family Guy (2024) and starring as Dave in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (2020-2022).
