An eagle-eyed action-packed God of War Ragnarok gameplay. Farore5 also hopes that Kratos can get his old shield fixed at some point in Ragnarok given its ties to his beloved Faye, and speculates that he will seek out the Dwarven brothers Brok and Sindri to help with the repairs.
Kratos Could Lose His Guardian Shield In God Of War Ragnarok
Kratos is going to need all the tools and weapons at his disposal in God of War Ragnarok, as the sequel will take him and Atreus to all Nine Realms and pit them against many powerful new foes - such as the lizard-like Grims that threaten the pair as they travel to the Dwarven homeland of Svartalfheim. To combat these new forces, Kratos will utilize two different shield types in God of War Ragnarok, one that gives him access to a brutal counterattack and another that lets him unleash a powerful shockwave after blocking enough attacks.
These are both interesting and useful abilities to have on hand while exploring God of War Ragnarok's new realms, but Kratos would probably argue that the best shield in his arsenal is the one his late wife gifted to him in honor of the day they first fell in love. Losing this treasured Guardian Shield in a heated battle against Thor would be an emotional gut punch to both Kratos and players, so hopefully he can get it repaired in short order when God of War Ragnarok launches this November.
