Fans who believed Gearbox’s footage showcasing its next-generation combat without a announcement regarding resolution or frame rate. It has also been confirmed that Godfall cannot be played offline - even in single-player - which can also affect overall performance for players depending on their internet connection’s strength and speed.
Despite the ambiguity associated with Godfall’s technical specifications, the action RPG is one of the most anticipated titles of 2020. Confirmed as a PlayStation 5 launch title, is one game that hasn’t suffered from delays that push it outside of the next generation’s launch window. The game is available in different editions, such as the standard, Deluxe, and Ascended Editions, and players who pre-order the game will get additional bonuses.
As the gaming community debates Godfall’s technical functionality, Counterplay Games debunked a rumor via Twitter claiming the game would run in 4K at 120 FPS. According to the developer, it's still working to optimize the game and won't be ready to say exactly what specifications the game will run at until that work is complete. With Godfall coming on November 12 along with the PS5, it shouldn't be too long before that announcement comes.
Frame rate is Destiny 2 players experience on consoles that can sometimes result in choppy performance during more hectic encounters.
Much of the frame rate debate is dominated by two primary factions. One believes there’s no sense in having FPS higher than 60, arguing the human eye cannot see more than 60 frames per second. However, the second faction tends to dispute this claim, with some claiming that higher frame rates, such as 120 or 244 (the two most common above-60 rates), are still beneficial for a smoother experience conducive to gameplay. Regardless, having a monitor or other device capable of displaying content at more than 60 FPS is typically a matter of preference or bragging rights, while companies displaying games in 4K at 120 FPS is still a technical marvel, and one that players shouldn't necessarily expect from Godfall or any individual game in the next-gen launch window.
Godfall is scheduled to release on November 12, 2020 for PC and PlayStation 5.
