The website promoting Godzilla vs. Kong and the groundwork for that epic clash is being laid by the Monarch Sciences viral website as well.

Monarch is the international agency founded after World War II whose mission is to track and catalog the monsters. Originally designated as M.U.T.O.s - massive unidentified terrestrial organisms - King Ghidorah, there are many more monsters set to appear in the film. Kong will not be among them, but Godzilla 2 will tease "breadcrumbs" leading to the future collision with the big ape - and this starts with the Monarch Sciences website.

One of the cool features of seen on Google Maps). This confirms that Monarch are still tracking the King of the Apes.

Godzilla Monarch Site Map Track Skull Island

Skull Island is already familiar site after the Jordan Vogt-Roberts' movie thoroughly explored the terrain and the many creatures that live there with Kong. During World War II, an American pilot named Hank Marlow (John C. Reilly) crashed on the island, thanks to how the location is perpetually shrouded by storm clouds. Marlow was eventually rescued in 1973 by a t U.S. Army/LandSat expedition led by British Special Services Captain James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston), Col. Preston Packard (Samuel L. Jackson), and William Randa (John Goodman), representing Monarch. They and their team, including photographer Mason Weaver (Brie Larson), encountered the island's gigantic beasts, with many being killed by the monstrous Skullcrawlers and by Kong himself.

Conrad and Weaver were among the survivors and were later recruited to Monarch in played by Game of Thrones' Charles Dance. This makes sense as Conrad would now be an elder statesman within Monarch, lending his expertise to Dr. Serizawa (Ken Watanabe), Vivienne Graham (Sally Hawkins), and paleobiologist Dr. Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga).

Judging from the Monarch Sciences map and the locations of the Titans all over the world, the scope of Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be global. It's unclear where Godzilla will do battle with the many beasts rising to reclaim the Earth, but after all of the carnage is over, Godzilla's path will eventually lead him to Skull Island, where the 8th Wonder of the World, Kong, awaits.
