Kong: Skull Island, and then King of the Monsters brought the number of Titans in the MonsterVere to a staggering 17.
Three of the newest Titans were key players in King of the Monsters. a plot to save the world from the destructive grasp of humanity. Of the four main Titans in the movie, only two survived. After being mortally wounded by Rodan, Mothra gave up her life to save Godzilla, and Mothra's sacrifice gave Godzilla the power he needed to finish off Ghidorah. Afterward, a host of new Titans, ed by Rodan, bowed down to Godzilla and accepted him as the new alpha.
One of Godzilla's new minions is a creature called Scylla (Titanus Scylla), an armored, insect-like creature with a face that resembles a squid. It has large, sharp claws on the ends of its ted legs. The monster was asleep beneath an oil field in Arizona when he first heard Ghidorah's call. His emergence from the ground was shown in trailers for King of the Monsters. His appearance instantly sparked comparisons to the Toho monster, Kumonga, but as an arachnid, Kumonga has eight legs instead of six. So Scylla, like all the other new Titans, is an original creation of the MonsterVerse and has no connection to any Toho film.
That being said, Scylla is connected to a creature from ancient legends, as confirmed by the credits of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. One of the articles found in the credits explains that a creature mentioned in Homer's Odyssey was actually inspired by Scylla herself. In Greek mythology, Scylla was a female monster with six dog-like heads and 12 legs. Scylla lived near the sea and would attack and cripple any ship that came close to her.
For Scylla to be a creature from the Odyssey, Scylla is at the very least over two thousand years old, and it would also mean that Scylla, despite her resting place at the beginning of King of the Monsters, spends at least some of her time in or near large bodies of water.
