Though and even the eighth wonder of the world: King Kong. All four of these monsters have had or will have their due in Legendary's MonsterVerse.
What about the other monsters? Godzilla has a lot of rematches but he's also had a plethora of battles against other not-so-famous monsters across his almost seventy-year history. Why should only the big names return for the MonsterVerse? There are many potential stories with some of the more underrated kaiju.
Ebirah
Anytime the Legendary Godzilla has had a fight in the ocean, it's always to Godzilla's advantage. A monster like Ebirah could provide Godzilla more of a challenge since water is its territory as well. Plus, the MonsterVerse has already dealt with creepy-crawler titans like Mother Longlegs from Kong: Skull Island and Scylla from King Of The Monsters.
Ebirah debuted in Godzilla VS The Sea Monster and out of all the creatures Godzilla has faced, Ebirah is the most simplistic. It's a Godzilla-sized lobster-like crustacean who was sidelined in its own film for a rematch between Godzilla and Mothra. With the right people behind it, Ebirah could be the Cloverfield of the MonsterVerse.
SpaceGodzilla
What happens when Godzilla's cells mix with alien spores? It results in an evil clone of Godzilla known as SpaceGodzilla. Unimaginative name aside, SpaceGodzilla would actually fit right into the MonsterVerse. Ghidorah was confirmed to be an alien alpha predator in King of the Monsters that attempted to terraform Earth into its new home.
With the MonsterVerse delving more and more into the science-fiction side of the mythos, it's not unbelievable to think that SpaceGodzilla could be created. With Legendary Godzilla portrayed as a protector of Earth, SpaceGodzilla could be the antithesis that seeks to destroy Godzilla and his home.
King Caesar
Mothra's introduction in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters was also the MonsterVerse's first step into the mystical side of things. Mothra's evolution from her cocoon state featured her taking some kind of energy from the stars. On top of that, Mothra's spirit fused with Godzilla to help defeat Ghidorah.
So with magic, the MonsterVerse could introduce King Caesar who could benefit from a modern redesign. Much like Ebirah, Caesar was sadly sidelined and only reappeared once in Godzilla: Final Wars. So whether he is a hero or villain, King Caesar deserves more screentime.
Battra
Battra is Mothra's antithesis, a harbinger of destruction rather than a protector of humanity like Mothra. So far Battra has only been featured once: as the main villain of the Heisei era version of Godzilla VS Mothra.
This counter version of Mothra also features unique abilities including different energy attacks, a large horn to impale his enemies, and can form a cocoon that acts as a shield. Since Mothra was such a beloved addition to the MonsterVerse, many fans would love to see how they portray Battra.
Destoroyah
Godzilla has had several tough rivals: Ghidorah being his most famous enemy. However, none of his rivals have ever killed Godzilla; that honor goes to the enemy that broke the hearts of Godzilla fans everywhere. Destoroyah can be described as the Godzilla version of Doomsday from the DC Universe.
Destoroyah is a monster that spawned from the Oxygen Destroyer which was used to kill Godzilla in the original 1956 film. After it detonated, it mutated a colony of microscopic organisms over the course of decades until becoming Destoroyah who ends up killing Godzilla. The Oxygen Destroyer was used in King Of The Monsters which opens the opportunity for Destoroyah.
Hedorah
Also known as the Smog Monster, Hedorah is an alien monster born from Earth's pollution. Much like how Godzilla was a social commentary on humanity's reckless use of nuclear warfare, this grotesque kaiju was commentary on humanity's mistreatment of the planet. All the pollution creates a monster that only gets bigger and bigger.
Not only is Hedorah still relevant in many ways but would fit into the terrorist schemes of the organization Apex led by Charles Dance's Alan Jonah. Hedorah also led to many horror elements that, if done today, could lead to even more disturbing death scenes.
Orga
Orga is an odd kaiju; he was originally a race of aliens known as Millennians who crashed on Earth. To survive in the extreme depths, they merged together to form one biomass that went dormant for thousands of years. They wanted to conquer Earth and when humans freed them from their dormant state, the aliens discovered Godzilla.
When the Millennians absorbed Godzilla's cells, the race mutated into a singular sentient creature known as Orga. Orga's strangeness is also one of the villain's greatest aspects as he was an entirely unique villain that only reappeared in videogames. Perhaps if given a more cohesive origin story, Orga could make for a great villain of the MonsterVerse.
Anguirus
It's shocking how many people forget about this kaiju since he was the first opponent Godzilla ever faced. In Godzilla Raids Again, Anguirus was the first giant monster to expand upon the world of Godzilla. During the secretive marketing campaign of the 2014 Godzilla, some fans hoped to see Anguirus.
There is a legacy to the character seeing how Godzilla Raids Again is not a beloved film. Without Anguirus, there would be no Ghidorah; if anybody deserves a shot to come back in the MonsterVerse, it's him. On top of that, Anguirus was hinted at with a skeleton of one of his race in the entrance to the Hollow Earth.
Biollante
Godzilla was back to being a force of nature rather than a superhero kaiju. It was a darker, grittier reboot of the series so Toho needed a darker villain and Biollante was just that. Godzilla's DNA merged with a plant to spawn one of Godzilla's deadliest foes straight out of a horror movie.
Biollante made for one of the goriest fights a villain has had against Godzilla. The design of Biollante was refreshing at the time and since then, Biollante has gained quite the cult following. She was another monster speculated multiple times for the MonsterVerse. With Apex as an eco-terrorist organization, Biollante could fit well into their schemes.
