Godzilla vs. Kong 2’s Villain Hints At How Kong Can Get A New Power-Up

The footage doesn’t shy away from an unusual characteristic possessed by the new Kong: he has blue eyes that glow unnaturally. The trailer doesn’t go into why his eyes are so unique, but an explanation is already in place. It’s known from Godzilla vs. Kong that Godzilla’s power –the same energy source sought after by APEX – can be found within the Hollow Earth. Based on this connection, it’s likely that Godzilla vs. Kong 2’s villain has harnessed Godzilla’s energy, thus setting up the possibility of Kong getting this upgrade as well.
Through their axes, the Kongs found a way to weaponize Godzilla’s energy, but apparently, one Kong figured out how to take this to another level. Just the idea that such a scenario is even possible opens the door for Kong to make a similar discovery. If their opponent truly is a “world-ending threat,” it may even be necessary. It could be that Kong will have to acquire some of Godzilla’s power in order for the two to win the fight to come. Whether it would be enough to push him above Godzilla’s power level, though, would depend on just how significant the upgrade is. Considering how Godzilla’s win wasn’t exactly a close one, Kong would need a truly massive power-up in order for him to eclipse Godzilla.
