Now, Netflix has confirmed Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire made it to Number 6 on its global Top 10 movies chart for the week of December 23 through December 30, 2024. The movie's ranking can be attributed to viewers in the United States and Australia, where it was Number 3 and Number 5 on those countries' Top 10 lists respectively. While not as global a sensation as other films on the list, such as Carry-On being Number 1 in 53 different countries, the Monsterverse movie is still proving popular thanks to a dedicated audience.

The major draw of Godzilla and Kong battling a dangerous foe made the newest Monsterverse entry a massive success when it was first in theaters. Because of how well it performed, a Godzilla x Kong sequel was announced in June 2024, set to debut on March 26, 2027. The movie's continued success on Netflix further proves demand for giant monster movies like it are incredibly high, with a strong audience around who want to see classic Titans do battle against those who wish to harm the world.

In addition to Monarch season 2 and a Godzilla x Kong sequel, multiple untitled spinoff shows for Apple TV+ have also been announced.
