Gordon Reynolds is an original creation by Ryan Reynolds, invented for a 2016 self-interview celebrating GQ's 2016 Men of the Year issue, which was awarded to the real Reynolds. In the 2016 interview, Gordon asks Ryan very inappropriate and insulting questions about his career and his wife Blake Lively, and compares Deadpool to Green Lantern. Gordon irritates Ryan so much that Ryan storms out of the interview. In 2017, Gordon returned to promote Ryan Reynolds' partly-owned gin brand Aviation American Gin.

Ryan Reynolds' Rude Twin Brother Plays The Nicest Deadpool Variant In The Multiverse

Gordon Reynolds' name in the Deadpool & Wolverine credits might be an especially subtle easter egg, but it comes with added value to those who understand its meaning. Nicepool is the kindest of all Deadpool variants in Deadpool & Wolverine to the point that he keeps praising Prime Deadpool while the original Wade Wilson uses him as a human shield. The fact that Ryan Reynolds' imaginary rude twin brother is credited as Nicepool in Deadpool & Wolverine makes this subtle easter egg all the more hilarious.

Gordon Reynolds' easter egg is also clever because Nicepool is the only Deadpool variant in Deadpool & Wolverine's Deadpool Corps who shows his unmasked face. When Prime Deadpool asks him where his mask is, Nicepool points to his unscarred face, suggesting that he doesn't want a mask to obscure his beauty. Some time later, Nicepool reveals that he can't regenerate when Deadpool uses him as a human shield, yet he doesn't mind dying a brutal death. If Gordon Reynolds were real, he likely wouldn't have accepted such a role.
