Fans have gotten another promising look at Batman: Arkham Origins studio WB Montreal, Gotham Knights will have players take control of famed Bat-Family Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin as they step forward to defend the titular city in the wake of Batman's mysterious death. The primary antagonists of Gotham Knights are the Court of Owls, a secret society seeking to control Gotham City with the help of their dreaded enforcers, the Talons.

While Gotham Knights isn’t connected to the previous Batman: Arkham series in of narrative, it does share several gameplay elements with the series - namely a focus on stealth and melee combat that will have players sneaking around and taking out enemies from the shadows with a wide range of Bat-themed gadgets and martial arts maneuvers. When Gotham Knights was first unveiled, fans were treated to a small sample of the game in action as Batgirl and Robin battled Mr. Freeze. Later Gotham Knights gameplay trailers would show the many new additions the game is making to the time-tested Arkham formula, such as a wide array of vehicles that the team can use to travel through the open world of Gotham, customizable costumes for each hero, and character-specific abilities like Red Hood's controversial mystic powers.

A new Gotham Knights trailer has been revealed as part of Summer Game Fest 2022, giving excited fans a closer look at the superhero title’s gameplay. The world premiere showcase featured Gotham Knight's version of Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing. The blue-clad hero gives a voice-over narration describing his desire to protect the city that has served as his home for so long, then springs into action on the mean streets of Gotham with spinning attacks, Escrima stick strikes, and even a few shots of Nightwing's new high-tech Flying Trapeze glider that lets him travel above the rooftops in search of crime and villainy to stop. Viewers can also see a few of Nightwing's alternate costumes, which will allow players to customize Gotham Knights' team of masked crime fighters however they see fit. Despite rumors that Gotham Knights would be delayed in the wake of the Rocksteady-developed Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League being held back until next year, the game will launch on October 25 - though only on current-gen platforms like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Additionally, it has also been confirmed that Gotham Knights will only two players through online co-op, much to the disappointment of fans hoping to take to the streets with their friends as all four of Gotham Knight’s playable heroes at once.

Despite these mild disappointments, Gotham Knights looks to carry on where the Rocksteady-developed Batman: Arkham series left off in delivering a promising open-world superhero title centered around some of the most popular ing characters in the iconic Batman mythos. With Gotham Knights’ October launch date drawing ever closer, DC fans won’t have to wait too much longer to defend Gotham from the Court of Owls in WB Montreal’s latest comic-based action blockbuster by stepping into the roles of several of Batman's most iconic pupils - including Nightwing.
