Gotham Knights’ tie-in comic series Gilded City provides not only a new Batman story but DLC content for the game. Gilded City serves as the prequel to Gotham Knights that explores Batman’s last major investigation with the Bat Family after a mysterious virus hits Gotham. However, Batman finds this is not the first time this virus has appeared in Gotham; in fact, another masked vigilante named the Runaway fought against such an issue in 1840s Gotham. This comic is thus set up for readers and players of Gotham Knights to both discover the past of the crime-ridden city and find additional pieces of content for the Gotham Knights game.
Indeed, each of the planned six issues of Gilded City comes with a code that will reward players and readers with exclusive DLC skins and weapons in Gotham Knights. This means the Gilded City items will only be awarded to those who get codes from the comics. In order to obtain these codes, one must either buy the print version of each issue or be a paid subscriber to DC Universe Infinite, where readers can purchase digital copies of Gilded City.
Gotham Knights Gilded City DLC Codes Grant Access To Skins & Weapons
In of what items are actually obtained from the Gilded City DLC codes, players can expect exclusive weapons and colorways for characters and vehicles. As of October 28, only two of the DLC items have been officially confirmed. Issue #1 of Gilded City rewards players with the code for a white colorway for the Batcycle and is available now since the issue released on the same day as the game. Issue #2 of Gilded City, which comes out November 22, will earn players a new version of Nightwing’s escrima sticks in Gotham Knights that are modeled after the steampunk style. The other items, though not officially unveiled, are confirmed by DC Games to be new weapons as well as character skins and colorways.

Though the DLC items for everything past Issue #2 of Gilded City are not yet confirmed, it may be reasonable to expect them to follow a similar pattern to Nightwing’s escrima sticks. The Runaway storyline of Gilded City takes place in the 1840s, and thus all the weapon skins for the other Gotham Knights will likely take on the steampunk style. This may also be the case for the exclusive skins that are rewarded as a result of using the codes for all six issues of the series, but nothing has been confirmed about them yet.
Regardless of what these new Gotham Knights suits and weapons end up looking like, Glided City promises that new content will be added to the game until at least March 2023. Further, the comic series may also lend the game’s story further context and payoff. So even if the cosmetic items the comics award aren't enough to sway buyers, perhaps the story will be.
