With an official release date set for May 2026 and a brand-new trailer revealing some of the main characters in Grand Theft Auto 6, we also caught a glimpse at some of the eye-popping locations around the state of Leonida. The fictional state of Leonida is the official setting for the highly-anticipated new installment in the epic franchise, and based on what we've seen so far, its criminal underbelly is as depraved and debaucherous as you'd expect a GTA entry to be.
Despite the delayed GTA 6 release, Rockstar released the second major trailer to give fans something to chew on for the time being. While details about the various places across the state of Leonida are somewhat lacking, there is a definitive set of confirmed locations we can look forward to visiting when the game launches next year. These include some obvious areas, such as the infamous Vice City, but also some unexpected and intriguing new locations, such as Port Gellhorn and Mount Kallaga National Park.

All Location Details In GTA 6
Vice City
Vice City returns as the ultimate playground of excess in GTA 6, but we're not in the 80s anymore. GTA 6's Vice City promises to grasp "the glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city." From the neon-lit hotels of Ocean Beach, to the cultural heartbeat of Little Cuba, the gritty deals at the Tisha-Wocka flea market, and the booming cruise industry at VC Port, every district offers a unique slice of life - and crime.
Leonida Keys
The Leonida Keys, highly reminiscent of the real-world Florida Keys, are the purported "Gateway to Paradise." This is a laid-back tropical archipelago where the drinks flow, "the dress code is casual," and the pace of life is easy. It’s the perfect place to unwind with a buzz and a view, but don’t get too comfortable. The Keys have a wild edge, as these stunning waters are also unpredictable and dangerous.
Grassrivers
Grassrivers is the mysterious heart of Leonida. This untamed swamp is as beautiful as it is dangerous, hiding secrets beneath its murky waters and tangled mangroves. While the gators draw in the tourists, the real threats lurk deeper within. It's a place where nature rules, and nothing is ever quite what it seems. Modeled after the Florida Everglades, there's no telling who or what lurks in the marshes of Grassrivers.

GTA 6 Delay Is Nothing Compared To The Longest Wait For A Game Sequel
Grand Theft Auto 6 will come 13 years after GTA 5, but that isn't the longest wait for a game sequel. Other series have had it much worse.
Port Gellhorn
Once a thriving vacation destination, Port Gellhorn is now a rundown stretch of Leonida chock-full by cheap motels, abandoned tourist attractions, and vacant strip malls. The tourists may be gone, but a gritty new economy has taken root, driven by malt liquor, painkillers, and truck-stop energy drinks. It’s raw, chaotic, and unapologetically rough around the edges. Grab a dirt bike and stay alert - this place plays by its own rules.
Ambrosia
Anchored by the Allied Crystal sugar refinery, Ambrosia touts traditional American industry values, no matter the consequences. While the factory keeps locals employed, a notorious biker gang fills in the gaps, providing residents with "almost everything else." It’s a place where hard work, loyalty, and quiet corruption go hand in hand.
Mount Kalaga
Mount Kalaga National Park stretches across the remote northern edge of Leonida, offering wide-open freedom and rugged beauty. Mount Kalaga is a national landmark, drawing hunters, fishers, and off-road adventurers, while the dense backwoods hide a different kind of resident. Hillbilly mystics and off-the-grid radicals want nothing to do with the government or outsiders. Mount Kalaga's locals are untamed, unpredictable, and fiercely independent in Grand Theft Auto 6.
