With so many superhero movies coming out year after year it's inevitable that not all of them are great and that many fall short of expectations. However, even in the worst movie, there's something to enjoy, whether it be a character or a particularly kick-ass action scene that gives a glimpse at what the rest of the film might have been.

These scenes by no means make up for the rest of the films' poor quality but regardless provide a slice of the entertainment promised.

Suicide Squad - The Bar Scene

Suicide Squad Extended Bar Scene

Despite making a decent chunk of change at the worldwide box-office both critics and audiences alike were in unanimous agreement that 2016's Suicide Squad was not only one of the worst superhero films of the year but flat-out one of the worst movies of the year.

But despite this the film does feature a good scene, the scene in question is the bar scene. Which sees the gang of misfit villains bond, drown their sorrows and finally come together as a team.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Gwen's Death

Gwen Stacys Death in The Amazing Spider-Man

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a bloated mess of a movie, with more characters subplots and villains than were ever needed. The film botched almost every aspect of the story and left audiences disappointed, thereby paving the way for yet another reboot.

However, the film does do Gwen Stacy's death justice. Ripped straight from the pages of the comic Gwen's death proves to be one of the most tragic and unexpected moments form any superhero movie.

X-Men: The Last Stand - Angel Clip's His Wings

Good Scenes in Bad Movies X-Men 3 Young Angel

X-Men: The Last Stand failed to match the quality of its predecessors and combined both the Dark Phonix story and Mutant cure into a film that could never hope to do either justice.

However, among the silliness, there is a heartwrenching scene in which a young boy is seen removing a pair of wings that have grown out of his back as a result of his mutation. That boy would go on to become Angel and accept his mutation but the bloody scene stands out as the film's best moment.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - The Opening

Batman V Superman & Man of Steel - Battle of Metropolis

2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice marked the first time the iconic titular heroes met, however, the film failed to match expectations and left many disappointed.

But there's no denying that the film gets off to a great start and in an interesting twist shows the events of the previous film from another perspective. As we follow Bruse Wayne powerless to stop Superman and Zod as they fight through the city and reign down destruction on Metropolis.

Spider-Man 3 - The Birth of Sandman

Sandman reaches out to grab a locket in the sand in Spider-Man 3 Sandman

Spider-Man 3 derailed the beloved franchise in a way no one saw coming. The film has become infamous for its campy scenes and undercooked villains. However, the birth of the Sandman is without a doubt one of the franchises' best scenes.

We witness the Sandman slowly gain control of his newfound powers and reform himself now a monster. He then sets off to take revenge on Spider-Man, who he blames for his mutation. Without a word spoke the scene manages to communicate a lot and allows the audience to empathize with Flint Marco.

Green Lantern - Sinestro

Sinestro puts on the yellow power ring in Green Lantern 2011

Green Lantern proved to be one of DC's biggest flops. The film is infamous for its bad CGI which unfortunately makes up the titular hero's entire costume. On top of that, the film fails to do justice to the character's signature villains and doesn't capitalize on its unique premise.

However the film does feature a terrific post-credit scene that sees Sinestro don a yellow ring, which transforms him into the beloved villain. Unfortunately this tease went nowhere as Green Lantern never got a sequel.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Opening Montage

X-Men Origins: Wolverine gets off to a terrific start and shows Wolverine's past like never before. The excellent sequence shows both Wolverine and Sabertooth montage their way through history, battling in every war from the recent past.

Without any dialogue, the sequence shows the bond between these brothers and how it eventually breaks and they turn into rivals. It's a shame the rest of the film could not live up to the quality of the opening.

Hellboy - Troll Fight

Hellboy troll fight

2019's worst superhero movies of the year, that went on to not only be panned by critics but also flop at the box-office.

But despite these shortcomings the film does feature an excellent action set-piece that sees Hellboy out of his depth and forced to take on three hulking trolls. The scene is unexpected and marks a standout moment in the otherwise forgettable film.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer - Silver Surfer Chase

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer continues to offer the same camp but forgettable fun that its predecessor did. However, the film does absolutely nail the design of the Silver Surfer who is brought to life with the best visual effects that 2007 had to offer.

Justice League - Flashback

2017's Justice League proved to be one of the biggest disappointments of the year as it squandered the excellent potential of its premise and left audiences underwhelmed. The film is filled with forgettable action and one of the worst comic book villains of all time.

But the film does feature one great flashback sequence in which we witness the last time Steppenwolf attacked. An epic battle ensues that unites both Amazonians, Atlanteans, and Gods to stop him.
