With the main cast already unveiled, HBO Max has now announced the guest cast list for Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, which includes Zach Galligan, who starred as Billy Peltzer in the Gremlins films. Additionally, Sandra Oh, Randall Park, George Takei, and Bowen Yang will as series guest stars, ing a stellar lineup of Asian American actors in main roles, including Ming-Na Wen, James Hong, BD Wong, and Izaac Wang. Set in 1920s Shanghai, the series follows the story a young Sam Wing (future shop owner Mr. Wing in the 1984 movie), highlighting his befriending of a young Gizmo the Mogwai.

Produced by Amblin Television in association with Warner Bros Animation, the series is set to premiere in 2023 on HBO Max and later on Cartoon Network. Having already been renewed for a second season in February of this year, over a whole year before it's officially on the air, it seems HBO Max has great faith in the series' success. And with original Gremlins director Dante working as a consultant on the project, a star of the original films, plus a story centered on a young Chinese boy and his family voiced by an all-star Asian American cast, the series is sure to be a hit. Fans have been anticipating a Gremlins 3 for years, but hopefully, this prequel series will be an even better answer.
