With a couple of episodes out of the way and the winter season finale just finishing, fans already got to see Derek and George make a reappearance on Meredith and Derek were the best couple on the show.

George O'Malley's return was very nostalgic for fans who have been following the show since the very beginning and had greatly missed the first set of interns from the hospital. Since the writers and cast had said there would be a few familiar faces returning, there are definitely some more characters whose return would just be incredible for any fan of Grey's Anatomy.

Doc

Doc was Meredith's furry companion she adopted in season 2 when Derek and Addison were trying to work out their marriage and Meredith was feeling lost in the world. This adorable dog had to be put down because he was suffering from cancer.

As many fans know, Doc was shown to have a major impact on Meredith's life after he made a reappearance when she was in a limbo stage. It wouldn't be completely out of the question if he made a reappearance in one of Meredith's dreams.

Izzie

From the first cohort of interns, Izzie's departure from the show was very fraught. She was far away in the periphery as well until fans found that she had Alex's kids. After Alex went back to her, it makes all the more sense for fans just to see what Izzie has made of herself.

Even though Izzie and Meredith were never really that close, Izzie was a very important character and had many dramatic storylines while she attended Grey-Memorial. It would be really amazing for fans to see her as the much more mature person she is now.

Arizona

Arizona Robbins looking at someone seriously in Grey's Anatomy

The incredibly cheery and chirpy Arizona Robbins was a big fan-favorite. Her departure from Grey's, though not as heartbreaking as many other departures, was still quite sad. Fans loved her cheerful presence and her ability to smile and get through all difficult situations. While Arizona is doing great things in New York with Nicole Herman, it would be a huge bonus to see her back on the show - even if it's for an episode or two.

April

April Kepner was another such character who had great endurance, optimism, and faith. Her presence back in the Grey-Sloan Memorial would indeed give everyone a boost, especially during these troubled pandemic times.

April was a great trauma surgeon and was able to think creatively and very effectively with minimal resources. It would be very interesting to see her take leadership in the hospital during these difficult times.

Addison

After Addison and Derek had split up, it was clear to all that they still held great iration and respect for one another. Although no one saw her reaction, Derek's death would have impacted Addison greatly as well. It would be quite cathartic to have Addison back on the show to learn how both Meredith and Addison dealt with his ing in different ways.

Addison was also an amazingly fun and quirky character whose presence was always quite entertaining. She would definitely have some fun learning the new dynamics and gossip from the hospital.

Callie

Callie Torres Grey's Anatomy

Callie and Sofia's New York stay seems to be quite pleasant, which is why even Arizona left to be with them. But even so, fans of the show loved the deeply feeling and spunky Callie Torres. It would be amazing to see the entire family together again as well, and also see if Sofia has a new sibling or not.

Since Callie's departure from the show was quite sudden as well, it would be nice to see her reignite their friendships she had with Bailey and Meredith after so many years apart.

Alex

Alex Grey's Anatomy

Alex's departure from the show was also sudden and unexpected. Fans didn't even get to see him leave, with his goodbye arriving in the form of letters.

Since Alex was such an important part of Grey's Anatomy, fans would have liked to give Karev a better farewell and this would be an amazing opportunity to do it. It would also be amazing to see him with his family, living the life that he has always wanted to live.

Mark

Mark Sloan on Grey's Anatomy

Mark Sloan, a.k.a McSteamy, went from being just eye candy to someone who was genuinely liked and loved in the show. Mark grew up a lot over the course of his appearance on the show, and his relationship with Lexie saw his character develop the most.

Sadly, Mark ed away due to complications from the plane crash. But how great would it be to see Mark and Derek buddying it up in the afterlife?

Lexie

Little Grey a.k.a Lexie's death was one of the most heartbreaking scenes on the show. She was so young and had barely lived her life. It took a huge emotional toll on Meredith as well to have to meet her sister so late in her life, and then have to see her die as well. Like George O'Malley, Lexie was a pure soul and it would be incredible for fans to see her again.

Cristina

Cristina Yang and Meredith Grey were the heart of Grey's Anatomy in its early years. Their camaraderie and competitive spirit defined the show.

While Cristina does make her presence felt through phone calls and text messages, to see Sandra Oh again with Ellen Pompeo would be something else. One of the most loved characters on the show, Cristina is someone who definitely needs to make a reappearance this time around.
