Grounded is a very unconventional title for developer Obsidian Entertainment. The team is best known for immersive RPGs like isn't quite enough to keep fans invested past its initial and intriguing premise. Steady updates like the aforementioned September content have helped Obsidian remedy this issue as the team gears up for a full launch.

The November update deepens the game still further. A trailer for the new update appeared on the Labs are always valuable things for players to seek out, and this one's sure to have some prime treasure to be uncovered. Better yet, the update is available right now.

Water levels in video games are historically unwelcome things, so players may balk at Grounded's new update. But the fact remains that this new update is introducing a lot of content, and that's something that the game sorely needs. The game has plenty of early access issues; the trailer even mentioned this fact, shamelessly showing off footage of a tadpole clipping into a lilypad to remind players why the game wasn't getting a full release yet. But it's still an enjoyable game with plenty of fans who've been struggling to figure out what to do while waiting for more updates. This new pond will be a godsend for them.

Grounded is a very strange game, but it's still got a lot of potential to be a classic. If future updates to the game are on the same level as this one, it'll be a powerfully robust title before too long. Until that time comes, Grounded players should have a lot of fun exploring the depths of this backyard pond and discovering what that terrifying giant koi fish is protecting.
