Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track for release in the fall of 2025, Take-Two Interactive has confirmed. The company is scheduled to make a financial report to investors and has released information regarding games, including the highly anticipated GTA 6.
The company has shared its Quarterly Earnings reports and documents on the Take-Two Games website, sharing full details about its finances and plans for the future. In these documents, the company confirms that GTA 6 is still on track to be released "in the fall." The official documents related to the investor call state:
"Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as we plan to launch Sid Meier’s Civilization VII on February 11, Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, GTA 6 in the Fall, and Borderlands 4."
Although the confirmation of the release window is good news for fans, the company remains hesitant to commit to a firm release date. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick made a statement to IGN ahead of the investor call, noting that while "there's always a risk of slippage," the company feels "really good about it [fall 2025]."
GTA 6 Isn't Being Delayed Just Yet
Despite Rumors Of A Delay, The Game Is Still On For A Fall 2025 Release
Grand Theft Auto 6 was announced almost exactly three years ago, on February 4, 2022. Since then, fans have been kept in suspense about the state of the game, with just one trailer and a higher-quality version of the same trailer shared on Rockstar Games to tide them over. With the game mere months from release, fans have been growing concerned that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive were running behind schedule and wouldn't release the game on time as planned.

10 GTA Characters That Could Return In GTA 6
Some characters are very beloved in the Grand Theft Auto Franchise and deserve to return for GTA 6, even if they can only return as a cameo.
The new earnings report reassures anxious fans that the game is not delayed and fans will be able to get their hands on it in the fall. The earnings documents state in bold text: "Grand Theft Auto VI planned to release in fall of Calendar 2025." In fact, the company is confident enough in this projected release window that it estimates a net growth of 5% over the next fiscal year, driven largely by the large title and maintained by other hits expected to launch in 2025, like Borderlands 4 and Civilization 7, which is scheduled for release on February 11.
Could GTA 6 Still Face Delays?
The Company Seems Confident, But Delays Are Always Possible
While Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games seem sure that GTA 6 will hit its release window of Fall 2025, delays are always a possibility. Delays often happen toward the end of developmental cycles, as companies encounter last-minute updates and bugs that need ironing out. It's still very possible that GTA 6 will face delays as the game approaches its estimated release window.
Zelnick's statement echoes this, as the CEO its that there's always a chance that GTA 6 will fall behind as it nears completion. The company's reluctance to place a firm release date on the game is also telling, suggesting that they might not be confident enough yet to commit to a specific date. That said, Grand Theft Auto 6 fans can rest assured that the title is coming along right on schedule for the moment, and a 2025 release is still highly likely.
