Fans waiting patiently for announced for many other platforms, including the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Comparatively, it only took five years before Red Dead Redemption 2 and its own multiplayer component, Red Dead Online.
When Grand Theft Auto VI does finally arrive, fans may be able to expect some impressive animation tech from the title on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S hardware - that is, if the descriptions of some of its current job listings on LinkedIn are anything to go by. The listings in question were spotted by Twitter GTA 6 News, and they describe the job positions to be part of a “global team of programmers and researchers who collaborate on pushing the boundaries of character animation on next generation hardware.”
The job descriptions don’t go into detail about what exactly the studio is doing to up the ante of GTA VI’s character animations, as the positions probably involve working on more than just a single title. Although, Red Dead Redemption 2 showed off some pretty impressive animations as well, sometimes to its own gameplay detriment. Given the relative power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, it’s hard to tell just yet how far the studio will be able to take the visuals and animations new platforms.
While fans may have to wait a bit longer for the game to make its way out of the gate, they can at least feel a bit more assured that the game will both look as well as play great and not become another Cyberpunk 2077. But with Rockstar’s track record, there shouldn’t be much for fans to worry about when it comes to Grand Theft Auto VI.
