Rumors have swirled that Adam Warlock could be Gamora's new love interest in Adam Warlock and Gamora romance are not true.
The possibility of an Adam Warlock and Gamora romance in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 arose due to how her story unfolded in Avengers: Endgame. These movies killed the MCU's Gamora only to have time travel and the multiverse allow an alternate version of her to live in the main timeline. The difference, though, is that this new Gamora never experienced her romance with Star-Lord, meaning she could start a new life now. Theories often suggested this could include striking up a romantic relationship with Adam Warlock, partially because the two have done just that in the comics.

How Guardians of the Galaxy 3 Can Wrap Up Star-Lord & Gamora's Romance
Instead of focusing on an Adam Warlock and Gamora romance, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 should spend a lot of energy on wrapping up where things stand between 2014 Gamora and Peter Quill. James Gunn has repeatedly confirmed that the threequel is meant to be the end of the current iteration of the Guardians, and that means wrapping up the main story arcs at play. Showing the next stage in Star-Lord and Gamora's relationship is one of the most important. This could be done with them getting back together if Gamora comes to see the same charming qualities in Peter that made her alternate self fall in love with him. However, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 might also feel like a retread of their past stories in that fashion.
For that reason, it is quite possible - if not likely - that Gamora and Star-Lord's romance will not be rekindled in Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Peter might want the love of his life back, but it could be a big moment for his character to accept that she is not the same and let her go. This could mean that Gamora gets another love interest in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but that still doesn't need to be Adam Warlock - at least not yet. Ultimately, audiences could see Star-Lord and Gamora agree to be friends but nothing more.
