Warning! Spoilers ahead for Guardians of the Galaxy #12
In the latest issue of Marvel Comics' Guardians' war with the Gods of Olympus, there's no way Rocket Raccoon was going to just take the loss of his best friend lying down. As such, he immediately sprung into action in the midst of the cosmic firefight to bring Groot back, using the power of an Infinity Stone no else on the battlefield even knew was present - except for him and its secret wielder.
In recent issues of the series from writer Al Ewing with art by Juann Cabal, the Guardians have finally gone to war against the Gods of Olympus. While Peter Quill has returned from another dimension Marvel Boy's pocket battlefield, Groot was too big and was blown to pieces as a result.
However, Rocket confirmed that a small piece of Groot's life force was still hanging on, despite his head only being a husk after the ship's destruction. This prompted Rocket to go to Prince Otherone of Noblor, a newer and quite ridiculous member of the Guardians calling himself the Prince of Power, a very strong hero whose been very cagey about how he got his immense muscles and strength, claiming that he was granted his power from a "wizard". However, Rocket has apparently known the truth all along how Otherone really got his strength: he swallowed the Power Stone at some point in the past. As crazy as that sounds, it turns out being exactly what was needed to bring Groot back from the brink.
Apparently, the Power Stone chose Prince Otherone to wield its power, just like the Reality Stone chose Ripley Ryan to be Star and the Time Stone chose the wrongly-sentenced inmate Hector Bautista to be Overtime, after Adam Warlock gave all the Infinity Stones sentience to chose their own destinies after 2018's Infinity Wars event. Thankfully, the Prince of Power was among the Guardians during their battle, providing the perfect means for Rocket to save Groot in the issue.
While it doesn't appear as though the Prince of Power will be a part of the newly sanctioned Guardians going forward, fans can certainly expect to see him down the line in Marvel Comics, especially now that it's confirmed that he's the wielder of one of the most powerful objects in the universe. In any case, Groot's latest death was incredibly short-lived, and that's a good thing. The Guardians of the Galaxy just aren't the same without him in Marvel Comics.
