A new trailer for the latest Groot into a deadly monster ahead of the storyline "Grootfall." Groot is undoubtedly a fan-favorite member of the Guardians. The Flora Colossus is a perfect mix of powerful and adorable with his plant abilities and charming empathy. Fans have come to love him even more after he became Baby Groot, a much smaller version of the original design that has the mind of a child. Groot will headline his own prequel comic miniseries that expands upon his past. However, in the main line of Guardians comics, Groot is about to take on a darker path, and a first look has given fans a glimpse at his terrifying new form.

Groot's Monstrous Design is Absolutely Terrifying
Marvel has teased the "Grootfall" storyline, named after a mysterious phenomenon that befalls the beloved Guardian. The trailer seems to give an idea of what affect Grootfall will have on Goot, with a new design that embraces cosmic horror. The way that his look plays with the eerie to become something difficult for the human mind to comprehend is similar to the works of H.P. Lovecraft, like the well-known monster Cthulhu. What makes things even better is the immense scale of Groot's gigantic form. There's a point in the trailer when the narrator refers to something called "Grootspace," ultimately hinting that Groot has become something that can be the size of galaxies. This trailer shows just how fearsome Groot can be and may end up being the greatest threat the heroes have faced yet.
Where is Rocket Raccoon?
Another fascinating aspect about this trailer is the stunning lack of Rocket Raccoon. Rocket and Groot are a pair who are practically inseparable in both the comics and the movies because of their tight friendship. In fact, the two are so close that Rocket ultimately serves as Groot's translator for the team. Now that Groot has become such a threat to the galaxy, it leaves fans wondering where he is. Is he dead? Has Groot's transformation forced Rocket into hiding and feeling like he failed his best friend? Very few details have been given about the character's whereabouts, but hopefully he will play a big role in taking down his corrupted best friend.
Guardians of the Galaxy #1 is expected to hit comic stands on April 12. This is an event that fans of the space bandits won't want to miss as it tests their friendship to the max. With the most beloved member of the team becoming the prime antagonist, heartbreak is bound to happen as the family fractures and the potential death of a Marvel hero is teased. It's a battle that the Guardians of the Galaxy will never forget as they take on Groot in his deadly new form that will undoubtedly make "Grootfall" one of their best stories yet.
