Hades 2 is filled with different collectibles, currency, and other miscellaneous resources to gather across the Underworld. Ashes are the most valuable, as this is the main currency used to purchase Arcana Cards. Thankfully, Ashes are plentiful in Erebus and beyond, but you may want to know how to acquire and spend this resource.

Hades 2 has various gameplay systems that the player must master if they want Melinoe to escape in Hades 2, to escape. Arcana Cards are perhaps the player’s best asset alongside weapons, keepsakes, boons, and more. Arcana Cards are permanent buffs that persist across all runs. These can upgrade Melinoe’s base health, increase gold gains, grant Death Defiance, and more. The only way to obtain these cards is to farm Ashes during your runs.

How To Get Ashes In Hades 2

Access Room Rewards

There are several ways to earn Ashes in Hades 2. The most direct way to acquire Ashes is through room rewards. Moving throughout Erebus and beyond, you are constantly forced to choose between multiple rooms, each with varying rewards and challenges. Ashes sand is one of the most common room rewards in Erebus.

As long as you can face whatever challenge lies beyond the door, you will be rewarded with Ashes for completion. You are constantly faced with choosing between different room rewards. Although boons from the various Gods in Hades 2 are useful, consider using some runs to farm Ashes, Bones, and other valuable currencies.

The Minor Finds Boon is an excellent way to stock up on extra currency, including Ashes, during your runs. Also, look out for Charon’s Chest, where you can order large amounts of Ashes at once.

Aside from room rewards, the Wretched Broker is another way to acquire Ashes relatively easily. The Broker is an upgrade you can purchase through the Incantations Calderon in Erebus. This vendor deals strictly in Bones, another resource gained through room rewards.

You can gain up to 15 Ashes at once for a small amount of Bones. If you aren’t running into any Ashes rooms during your run, look out for Bones or acquire them by selling fish in Hades 2, as this is another easy way to farm the currency.

Get More Buffs

In Hades 2, Ashes are used to unlock Arcana Cards. You can see all available Arcana Cards by visiting the training room. This is the room where you can select all of Melinoe’s available weapons and tools and find the practice dummy Schelemeus. Interact with the stone slab at the room's entry to see all Arcana Cards you have already unlocked and the bones still available.

Arcana Cards are ive buffs that persist throughout each run in Hades 2. Currently, there are 25 total Arcana Cards that you can purchase with Ashes. The amount of Ashes you need to buy an Arcana Card depends on its quality. Generally, Arcana Cards cost between five and 25 Ashes.

Cards are invaluable buffs that carry over from run to run. If you struggle to get across Erebus or any other section in Hades 2, consider gathering Ashes to obtain as many of these buffs as possible.
