Halo fans with plenty of spending money burning holes in their pockets can now walk like Master Chief thanks to American footwear manufacturer Wolverine and its Spartan-inspired boots. However, the product of Wolverine’s collaboration with 343 Industries will be in limited supply with a hefty price tag. Only a limited number of boots will be sold and each pair will set fans back over two hundred dollars.

The announcement comes days after the season premiere of the live-action TV show, which has drawn mixed reception from fans, including frustrated Halo Infinite players who see it as a wasted opportunity for cross-promotion. Meanwhile, the current state of Halo Infinite has been lambasted online for a slow rollout of new content and a lack of a battle royale mode. However, avid fans with disposable income might be excited about Wolverine’s Master Chief-inspired boots. They are based on Wolverine’s Hellcat boot, which as fans pointed out, looked like gear from the Halo universe.

Master Chief’s Spartan number, only 117 pairs of these boots will be sold. According to Wolverine's Twitter announcement, they are available in “four core collectible sizes.” Each pair will cost a die-hard Halo fan $225. “Comments rolled in asking the brand to make the boots a reality,” Wolverine stated. “Now, after nearly a year of design and collaboration, Wolverine and 343 Industries are answering the call.”

John Friend, 343 Industries' director of Halo and Xbox consumer products, had often heard of the demand from fans for a Master Chief-inspired boot. According to Friend, the bootmaker approached 343 Industries for the collaboration. "The limited-edition boot gives Halo fans a chance to step inside (the boots) to become Master Chief and bring the Halo universe into their everyday life," said Friend. The collaborators are both excited to hear reactions from fans. The shoes definitely look like they have been ripped out of the Halo franchise.

The chance to “become Master Chief” will be for a very limited number of Halo fans, because only 117 pairs will be sold exclusively on Wolverine’s website, where, at the time of writing this article, people can sign up for early access. For now, it is unclear which sizes the boots will be in, and how Wolverine will allocate them. However, they will most likely sell out fast, much like other recent video game shoe collaborations. The Pokémon x Converse collection was in high demand during last year’s holiday season. Wolverine’s Halo boots go on sale on March 29.
