A young Han will be out to prove himself as he tries to find his place in the world in colorful character posters of the young ensemble.

But Lucasfilm isn't stopping there. During the buildup to The Last Jedi last year, they partnered up with various magazines for informative spreads that showcased new images and unveiled plot details. It's no surprise they're doing that for Solo as well, and now we have a vague idea of what the movie will be about thanks to the latest coverage.

EW's cover story this week is all about the galaxy far, far away, shedding more light on Solo. In addition to a cover featuring a new look at Han and his best bud, Chewbacca (see it below), Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy opened up on Han's mindset in this prequel:

“He might be a little more immature, he may be a little less experienced, and he may hone his cynicism over time, but he’s very wary. He needs to gain the respect of the people he interacts with, even if they’re the lowest of the low.”

Based on the trailer, we know Han has been on his own since age 10 and is somewhat directionless, which would explain why he's drawn to Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson). Viewing the criminal as the father he never had, it makes sense Han would be eager to earn Beckett's iration in any way possible. Details about Solo's narrative are largely being kept under wraps for now, but Beckett is in the process of putting together a crew for a heist and wants Han to the team. The train-like vehicle from the footage, the Conveyex, could be the target of this job - as Han has to prove his worth by stealing something onboard. But at this point it's difficult to say if this train robbery is Solo's finale. The sequence could be earlier in the film as a "test" for Han to show what he can contribute.

While Solo looks to expand the Star Wars universe with a tale set in the seedy underbelly of the galaxy, it looks like it's still going to borrow some classic franchise tropes. The young Han is another orphan searching for his purpose before getting swept on a life-changing adventure. There's even the father/son dynamic that exists with Han and Beckett, although hopefully we'll see a new spin on that concept. Star Wars is known for tumultuous relationships between parents and their offspring, so it would be nice if Han and Tobias were loving towards each other for the whole movie. After all, Han had to have gotten his heart of gold from somewhere.
