NBC's clamoring for a Hannibal revival, especially since the series finale ended on an ambiguous note.

Hannibal, based on the work of author Thomas Harris, follows a special FBI consultant named Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), who assists in solving grisly murder cases. After consulting with a respected psychiatrist named Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) on a case, the two form a bond and become friends. However, Will doesn't know the psychiatrist moonlights as a notorious, cannibalistic serial killer. The series came from creator Bryan Fuller and starred Dancy, Mikkelsen, Caroline Dhavernas, Laurence Fishburne, and Gillian Anderson. Mikkelsen's portrayal of the cannibalistic killer, previously played by Anthony Hopkins in who the better Hannibal Lecter was. In fact, the series as a whole is considered by many to be one of the most underrated shows of the past decade.

According to Netflix's See What's Next Twitter page, all three seasons of Hannibal will be released on the streaming platform this June. All episodes of the show will be made available on June 5th for viewers to enjoy and binge to their heart's content. The full post is below.

Following the conclusion of the series, fans have been hoping for a season 4 to come to fruition, especially since there are storylines from the show that were never resolved. In 2019, Fuller made it clear to fans that he wasn't giving up on trying to make Hannibal season 4. Fuller has even discussed what his plans for Hannibal season 4 would be, possibly venturing into Silence of the Lambs territory among other storylines from Harris' source material. In the mean time, CBS has green-lit a sequel series entitled Clarice, focusing on the Clarice Starling character. She was played by Jodie Foster in The Silence of the Lambs and the new show will take place one year after the events of the acclaimed film.

Hannibal was and still remains one of the best shows to grace television screens. Its reinvention of the Hannibal Lecter character not only rivaled Hopkin's portrayal of the cannibal, but managed to sur it as well. Not only were Mikkelsen and Dancy phenomenal in their respective roles, but the craftsmanship of each episode was simply outstanding. There simply wasn't another show on television like it, making its abrupt conclusion all the more heartbreaking. Hopefully, Netflix can breathe new life into the series, bringing it the attention and popularity it so rightfully deserves. If all goes well, it could possibly lead to a revival on the streaming platform. However, in the mean time, viewers can watch the complete three seasons of Hannibal starting June 5th.
