It's a simple but distinctive concept for a mask, and the movie's director Christoper Landon revealed to Newsweek that when he was prepping the movie he and his partner were expecting a baby. The idea of fatherhood and fears of being a bad parent started to slip into the story, which inspired the idea of the killer wearing a baby mask.

The babyface mask wasn't the only concept for Happy Death Day, however, with a pig mask also being considered. Landon ultimately opted for the baby mask. The Dead By Daylight as a playable killer.

While it's too bad a Happy Death Day 3 is unlikely, the first two movies make for an entertaining duology. The second entry, in particular, is already building a cult following for its change in direction and the way it built on Happy Death Day. The babyface mask is also destined to become a popular - and simple - Halloween outfit in the years ahead.
