Harry Potter movies are also based on novels, which were written by J. K. Rowling. Both stories are full of fantasy elements and action sequences, as well as a variety of characters.
Fans are familiar with the couples that ended up together within this series and in these films, but what if the worlds collided? What if GOT characters could date characters from the Wizarding World? Here are five pairings that could work, as well as five that would probably be a disaster.
Could Work: Brienne Of Tarth & Rubeus Hagrid
First up are two gentle giants: Brienne Of Tarth & Rubeus Hagrid. Brienne served the Stark family, while Hagrid worked his way up from gamekeeper to a professor. Both of them would do anything for their loved ones, showing true loyalty and care.
Those traits would have to make them good significant others, as well, and it would be so sweet to watch their love story play out, all big and bold.
A Disaster: Melisandre & Lord Voldemort
Two not-so-nice characters who should avoid one another would be Melisandre and Lord Voldemort. Since she was a shadowbinder and red priestess and he was the dark lord, their evil powers could combine to do even more damage.
Plus, it is hard to imagine either of them in a healthy romantic relationship; the power struggle alone would be too much to handle.
Could Work: Cersei Lannister & Lucius Malfoy
Cersei Lannister and Lucius Malfoy also did some horrible things in their respective stories, yet they were humans with families and hearts, so maybe they could make a relationship work.
They had similar physical traits and personality types, bringing fierce strength to all they did.
A Disaster: Ygritte & Fred Or George Weasley
Ygritte was a wildling with a very headstrong attitude, and though her red hair would have complimented the Weasley twins’ well, this would probably be another unsuccessful coupling.
Fred and George both loved to let loose, have fun and play jokes, and they would have needed to end up with people that had similar laid-back vibes. That was definitely not this GOT character.
Could Work: Jon Snow & Hermione Granger
Jon Snow and Hermione Granger played vital roles in their tales, and they were both decent people; they were comionate and authentic but also tough and bright, making them ready for anything. This only progressed as their story did, as they grew into even more impressive adults.
Together, they could have been a power couple, spreading goodness in all areas of their thrilling lives.
A Disaster: Khal Drogo & Luna Lovegood
There may have not been characters who were as opposite as Ramsay Bolton and Luna Lovegood. He was one of the worst villains of his story, while she was cute and quirky.
Some may think that being with him would be destructive and make for a life full of dread. The reasons this would be a disaster, however, would be that Luna would probably annoy Ramsay with all her eccentric behaviors and strange ponderings and would tell him off, standing up against his injustices.
Could Work: Gilly & Ron Weasley
Another main character from Harry Potter’s world was Ron Weasley, a timid guy who proved himself to be loyal and protective over and over again. That was part of what made Hermione fall in love with him, along with his goofy and fun-loving ways.
A down-to-earth character from GOT was Gilly, and she may have been attracted to Ron, as well. It is easy to picture them just hanging out with one another but then buckling down and getting serious whenever struggles came about in life.
A Disaster: Jaime Lannister & Minerva McGonagall
If these fantasy worlds mixed, Jaime Lannister and Minerva McGonagall could end up in the same room, due to their influence. And they may have even respected each other, as they were both capable individuals who could be quite fierce.
But to be honest, Professor McGonagall deserved much better than Jamie.
Could Work: Missandei & Harry Potter
As the star of his story, Harry Potter was a brave, dependable, fair, and courageous character. In his adult life, he ended up with Ginny Weasley, a girl he had known for years, someone who was like family and a brave soul who was there to him through all the highs and lows.
Someone who could have provided him with that and more would be Missandei. She became a trustworthy presence in Daenerys' life, as well as a true friend, and their positive traits would have led to a beautiful relationship.
A Disaster: Daenerys Targaryen & Draco Malfoy
As a final disaster, Daenerys Targaryen and Draco Malfoy could have been an item. They were around the same age, they both had blonde hair that was almost white, and they both did whatever it took to get the job done.
That could have been a problem, though; they sometimes struggled with making the right decisions, and these similar personalities would have clashed.
