Even though the Harry Potter franchise are completely different, fans still like to compare them from time to time. Simply because it's fun to imagine what would happen if the two worlds met, if the MCU characters all had magic powers or if superheroes roamed the Hogwarts.
It's easy to combine these two franchises since they have more in common than many might think possible. Most of all, they're both about heroes overcoming the impossible, facing great evil. But also, on a more relaxed note, they simply show hilarious and touching adventures. And even though the MCU superheroes mostly do fine without magic, there are some Harry Potter spells that would make their lives easier.
Iron Man: The Stuff-Controlling Spell
Tony Stark is a brilliant scientist and an inventor, and as such, he's not that fond of magic. So finding a spell that even he could appreciate and consider useful is quite a challenge. Luckily, this spell - Piertotum Locomotor - solves the problem. Even though it basically does what Tony himself can do, if he puts in the effort and hours in his workshop. The spell brings inanimate objects to life and they then follow the wizard's bidding, do what he wants them to do. Tony could use the spell to control multiple Iron Man suits at once without consuming extra energy. Also, if his suits didn't work without the spell, nobody else could use the suits against Tony if they got their hands on them.
Hulk: The Happy Spell
Until Professor Hulk came along, Bruce Banner's biggest problem was controlling his rage that would, in turn, turn him into Hulk. As Banner said in Avengers (2012) - "I'm always angry." That's not the healthiest way to live and also presents a problem in his potential romantic relationships - he could easily hurt his partner if he stopped concentrating hard enough, controlling his emotions. Luckily for poor Hulk, there's a spell that would solve his problem. It's called the Cheering Spell and it makes one happy and content, so it would overcome any anger issues Hulk has.
Spider-Man: The Memory-Erasing Spell
There are many spells that Peter Parker would no doubt find useful - considering he has to juggle his studies and being Spider-Man. However, due to the post-credit scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), Spider-Man would need one spell above all others right now. It's the memory-erasing spell - Obliviate. Mysterio outed Peter as Spider-Man to the whole world at the end of the film and also made it looked like Peter was a crazy murderer, so erasing everyone's memories of this unfortunate incident would make Spider-Man's life a whole lot easier.
Black Widow: The Riddle-Uncovering Spell
Natasha Romanoff may have become a bonafide superhero in the end - but first and foremost, she was a spy. Spies have to know when to fight others but also when it's best to lay low and don't draw too much attention to themselves.
Their job also requires finding and deciphering secret information. The following spell - Aparecium - would come in handy in this area since it serves to reveal secret messages. This way, Natasha could fight her enemies even more effectively and get to information no-one else would have access to.
Hawkeye: The Stunning Spell
The stunning spell would be useful in a hand to hand combat. Hawkeye rules when it comes to shooting arrows, a fact he demonstrated many times before, but he has no special powers and there are stronger fighters than in the MCU. That's where the spell Stupefy would come in handy. It would allow Hawkeye to stun his opponent and stop him from attacking, all without putting himself in close proximity to his enemy. In the end, his arrows and the spell would make a great duo.
Groot: The Flower Spell
Groot's already powerful enough on his own, especially once he grows up a little. Considering that, he doesn't need spells that would help him fight his enemies, he's got this covered. So what's left? For his personal appreciation, the flower spell - Orchideous - would do wonders. Groot is very connected to nature since he's a tree, so surrounding himself with pretty flowers sounds like something he would enjoy.
Ant-Man: The Size-Altering Spell
Ant-Man's whole thing is about altering his size thanks to his special suit. But things go wrong sometimes and he gets stuck at the wrong size. Also, becoming too big is dangerous for Scott, as seen in his second movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018).
The size-altering spell - Engorgio - would solve this problem for Ant-Man. It's a growing charm so it would allow Ant-Man to turn really huge without risking his health in the process or another suit malfunction. As long as he would do the spell properly, that is.
Doctor Strange: The Space-Enlargening Spell
Doctor Strange already has a nice variety of useful magic spells at his disposal since he's one of the few magic-wielders in the MCU. His sanctuary in New York, Sanctum Sanctorum, is especially full of magic power - as Loki himself found out when the good old Doctor made him fall for about 30 minutes. To make his home even more magical, Doctor Strange could use this Harry Potter spell - Capacious Extremis. What it does is that it makes the space of something bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. In other words, Doctor Strange would have much more free space in his home with this handy spell.
Thor: The Long-Distance Traveling Spell
Before the events of Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Thor spent a lot of time traveling - to Asgard, Earth, and various other places. In the end, he ed the Guardians of the Galaxy and decided to discover space, all it has to offer. But traveling in a space ship can sometimes get dull or overly long. Instead, if Thor used the spell Portus, he could turn every object into a portkey and transport himself wherever he would like to.
Captain America: The Summoning Spell
Captain America is usually good at keeping his most precious property - his shield - nearby. But sometimes he comes across someone capable or rude enough to steal the shield - such as Spider-Man or Bucky. That would be the right moment for Steve to use Accio and let the shield fly right back to his hand where it belongs. Of course, the spell can summon even more stuff, but it's most likely that Captain America would be using it primarily for retrieving his shield.
