Their dedication and perfectionist tendencies would likely put many a Taurus at the top of their Hogwarts graduating class. A Taurus would then be able to enter the wizarding world and get any job they so desired. But where might a Taurus really succeed in life beyond the classroom?

Not everyone grows up to work for the ministry, though a Taurus would likely be very successful there. Where else might a Taurus find themselves following graduation? Here are just a few possibilities, and a few areas that would likely be avoided by any Taurus with a Hogwarts diploma.

Excel - Minister of Magic

Minister of Magic

It's quite the ambition, but Tauruses are nothing if not ambitious. Their tendencies toward perfectionism and strong opinions make them particularly well suited to politics.

The fact that Tauruses also enjoy the finer things means that being the top dog in the political istration would be particularly interesting to any Taurus in their post-Hogwarts life. Quite a few past ministers were likely a Taurus as well as Hogwarts graduates.

Fail - Professor

The Taurus penchant for perfection as well as leisure time wouldn't make them very well suited to be professors in their post Hogwarts life. To be a good professor (Snape not withstanding) patience is necessary, as well as a lot of off-hours work.

A Taurus likes hard work, but they appreciate the reprieve and satisfaction they get then the work day is really over. As a professor, particularly at a magical boarding school, off hours don't really exist, and that's likely to put any Taurus off of such a position.

Excel - Healer

Perfectionism as well as determination and dependability would certainly put a Taurus in great standing as a healer at St. Mungos (or perhaps in a private practice).

The satisfaction a Taurus would get from curing a patient or diagnosing them would certainly fulfill a Taurus' need for perseverance. Tauruses are also very comfortable with physical , so a job in the wizarding hospital wouldn't phase them in the slightest.

Fail - Auror

Aurors and Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts The Crimes of Grindelwald

Aurors work odd hours, and that's not likely to appeal to a Taurus. Certainly their determination would help make them good aurors, but problems would definitely arise when wrong doers escaped.

It's hard to ever take a break as an auror, find some time to chill. Even outside of the job danger would always be on the mind and that doesn't fit well with a Taurus. They'd be more successful bossing around the aurors than actually being one.

Excel - Wand Maker

Garrick Ollivander in Harry Potter

Perfectionism and dedication would certainly aid any Taurus who decided to become the next Ollivander and make wands for a living. The precision and special knowledge necessary to be a successful wand maker would certainly appeal to a Taurus.

While wands are in major demand at the beginning of any school year, wand makers likely have quite a lot of down time, which a Taurus would also certainly enjoy. Taurus would also appreciate being one of only a few experts in their field.

Fail - Curse Breaker

Bill Weasley is the curse breaker of the Harry Potter universe, and he's no Taurus. Bill's birthday, for one, is in November, but he's also works in a profession that needs its workers to make quick decisions and jump in without all the facts.

A Taurus, while dedicated, would certainly be more comfortable taking their time with their job, being able to perfect their actions before taking them. Curse breaking doesn't exactly offer that kind of opportunity, and would likely be more well suited for wizards born under a different sign.

Excel - Pub Owner

Hagrid, Harry, and Quirrell by The Leaky Cauldron

A Taurus' interest in relaxation and flirting would certainly be well suited to helping to run many of the pubs found in the Harry Potter universe. From The Leaky Cauldron, to the Hog's Head, and the Three Broomsticks, a Taurus would certainly be an excellent addition to the staff.

Their dedication would make them hard workers and great at ing orders. Their interest in relaxation would make them fabulous servers, willing to interact and chat with anyone who came across their path.

Fail - Writer

Harry Potter

Most writers in the Wizarding World write non-fiction. Hermione really only reads school texts, histories, and newspapers. As a writer, a Taurus, in the Wizarding World, would also have to be a researcher, and while Taurus are dedicated to most tasks, this may be a bit out of their realm of capabilities.

The time it takes to research, and the seclusion it necessitates, would not appeal to most Tauruses. A Taurus who wants to write would be better suited as a reporter than as a writer alone. Daily Prophet? Yes. Hogwarts textbooks? No.

Excel - Quidditch Player

Taurus would excel as a quidditch player in school, and the lifestyle of a professions quidditch player would also certainly appeal. Dedication and dependability keeps a Taurus showing up and putting their all into practice and into a game.

Their love for the finer things in life would also make a Taurus a particularly intriguing celebrity on the sports circuit, should their skills take them that far. Their physicality and stubborn streak would also make Taurus particularly fun players for fans to watch.

Fail - Dragon Keeper

Hungarian Horntail breaths fire in Harry Potter

Charlie Weasley, Harry Potter's resident dragon keeper, took on a job that would certainly keep him on his toes. The unknowns of dragon keeping aren't likely to make Taurus very successful in the industry.

Tauruses are dedicated, would learn all they could about dragons, but the unknowns of dragon personalities would keep a perfectionist Taurus from succeeding the same way they might in another profession. Dragons are physical, as Tauruses are, but in quite different ways.
