- Hazbin Hotel season 2 may include new songs for characters like Charlie, Angel, Husk, Cherri Bomb, Lilith, and the Vees.
The first season of Hazbin Hotel includes numerous amazing musical numbers, and the second season will doubtlessly be the same. Charlie (Erika Henningsen) and the other main characters sing showstoppers that deserve to be played on a loop. Furthermore, several old and new Hazbin Hotel characters merit songs of a particular style or narrative purpose next season that will highlight the vocals of the voice actors and the emotional weight of the character arcs. With certain characters stepping into the spotlight in the future, the composers will need to create more dynamic musical numbers.
The soundtrack of Hazbin Hotel impressively incorporates elements of rock, alternative, jazz, and musical theater, in addition to other genres. The songs also appeared on several different Billboard charts following the show's premiere, with the Hazbin Hotel season 1 soundtrack ranking as No. 13 of the most-consumed albums in the U.S. (via Hazbin Hotel season 2, necessitating new songs to help tell their stories. There are a few possibilities for musical numbers pairing different characters and musical styles that stand out.

Hazbin Hotel Continues A Positive Representation Trend In Animated Shows
Hazbin Hotel is notable for its rousing musicals and distinct animation style. However, its handling of diverse characters also helps it stand out.
8 Charlie & Vaggie Duet
Charlie and Vaggie's only duet isn't a highlight of Hazbin Hotel season 1.
"More That Anything (Reprise)" is a sweet moment in Charlie and Vaggie's relationship and gives them a scene that is just about their love for each other outside of working on the hotel, but it is not the most impactful musical number of the show.
Charlie and Vaggie's (Stephanie Beatriz) relationship is at the center of Hazbin Hotel's story. However, the only song with just the two of them, unfortunately, isn't one of Hazbin Hotel's best songs. Rather than writing something original for the show's main couple, they are given a reprise of "More Than Anything," a song that Charlie sings with her father Lucifer (Jeremy Jordan) in an earlier episode. The context of the song is reframed to describe romantic love rather than familial.
As depicted in season 1, the couple's relationship is dominated by the day-to-day running of the hotel and their battle with Heaven. "More That Anything (Reprise)" is a sweet moment in Charlie and Vaggie's relationship and gives them a scene that is just about their love for each other outside of working on the hotel, but it is not the most impactful musical number of the show. The moment is also very brief due to the screen time needed for the final battle in the season 1 finale. Needless to say, Charlie and Vaggie are overdue for a grand romantic scene.
Season 2 can further develop Charlie and Vaggie’s romance with another song for the two of them. It might fit into the second-to-last episode as they reassert their love before another climatic finale. Alternatively, there could be a whole episode with the subplot of Charlie and Vaggie trying to have a date night and being interrupted by everyone else, concluding with an acoustic number when they are finally alone. This song could even segue into a flashback that shows more of their early relationship.
7 Uplifting Solo For Angel
A more optimistic song for Angel would be a natural follow-up to "Poison."
Angel Dust's (Roman Blake) two major musical moments are the song "Loser, Baby," a jazzy duet with Husk (Keith David), and his dark pop solo "Poison." The latter emphasizes the toxic work environment that Angel is trapped in, while the former shows Husk assuring Angel that they will each other through all their problems. "Loser, Baby" is a major moment in both Angel and Husk's character arcs, where they both recognize what they have gained from staying and working at the hotel. This character development continues in the second half of the season, especially for Angel.
By the season finale, Angel is unrecognizable from the Sinner who moved into the hotel for free rent and to get away from his boss Valentino (Joel Perez). It would therefore be fitting to circle back around to Angel for another solo that highlights this character development. This song could be more triumphant, showcasing how Angel will now protect his friends and stand up to Val (both of which he does in season 1).
6 Rock Solo For Cherri Bomb
Cherri Bomb should have her own song, like other Hazbin Hotel ing characters.
Angel's friend Cherri Bomb (Krystina Alabado) is an amazing ing character who does not have any musical numbers in season 1, aside from being a part of the chorus in "Finale." If she ends up playing a bigger role in season 2, she should also get her own musical number. To maintain the show's pattern of two songs per episode, the ing characters Velvette (Lilli Cooper) and Carmilla Carmina (Daphne Rubin-Vega) are given their unique solos, "Respectless" and "Out For Love," respectively. Therefore, Cherri can have a solo that does not disrupt the rhythm of the show.
In of what this solo would be, the perfect genre for Cherri is definitely rock and/or pop. Cherri is defined by her rebellious attitude, her grungy style, and her habit of blowing things up. Cherri's rock solo would likely be very angsty and tons of fun, but could also showcase new elements of her character arc, regarding whether she decides to move into the hotel next season or sticks to her previous statement that it's not for her.

10 Best Duos In Hazbin Hotel Season 1, Ranked
Hazbin Hotel is driven by the interpersonal relationships among the characters, with memorable duos such as Charlie and Vaggie or Husk and Angel.
5 Solo Power Ballad For Lilith
The best way to illustrate Lilith's power is for her to sing a triumphant song.
This paints an image of Lilith as a powerful queen and sorceress and suggests that Charlie's love of expressing herself through song is something her mother shares.
No one needs a power ballad in season 2 more than Charlie's mysterious mother Lilith. In her opening narration, Charlie describes how Lilith "thrived" in Hell, "empowering demonkind with her voice and her songs." This paints an image of Lilith as a powerful queen and sorceress and suggests that Charlie's love of expressing herself through song is something her mother shares.
With multiple former Elphaba actresses to consider casting as Lilith for Hazbin Hotel, a "Defying Gravity" or "No Good Deed"-inspired number would be perfect for the Queen of Hell. It is not yet clear if Lilith bargained her way into Heaven for her own comfort, or if it is part of a bigger plan to overthrow the angels. Regardless, Lilith is likely a flawed character who cannot be defined as wholly good or bad, and will need a brilliant song to capture her complex persona.
4 Backstory Song For The Vees
Hazbin Hotel season 2 will reveal more about the Vees, leading to another musical number.
Show creator Vivienne Medrano confirmed in a Screen Rant interview that the Vees will play a larger role in season 2. This will include explaining the history of Vox's (Christian Borle) rivalry with Alastor. Strangely enough, the Vees only have one real moment where they are all singing together in season 1; even then, it is mostly Vox and Val singing, with Velvette only coming in at the end. Vox and Velvette each have amazing musical numbers with other characters, while Val does not sing anywhere else.
The easiest way to recount the Vees' backstory and to give them all another musical moment: to have the trio sing a song together telling their history and how they built their media empire. Alastor could make a small cameo in the Vees' song because, while his main rivalry is with Vox, they all consider him a threat to their power. However, the focus should still be on the dynamics among these secondary villains.
3 Alastor & Lilith Duet
Alastor and Lilith are implied to have history together, which could be explained in song.
Some of the clues about Alastor's (Amir Talai) backstory suggest that he and Charlie's mother are either allies or enemies. Like Lilith, the exact nature of Alastor's plans and motivations are ambiguous. However, Alastor is also the most Machiavellian member of the main cast and sees his partnership with Charlie as a strategic move on a chessboard. The small amount of information that has been revealed about Lilith's characters suggests that she is just as cunning.
Music could also be used as an exposition tool to explain whatever relationship exists between Alastor and Lilith. The two schemers circling each other as they try to figure out their next move, accompanied by Broadway-style music, would be thrilling. Alastor's tense duet with Vox involves a lot of talking and the tone is more humorous. However, Alastor's final solo of the season proves that even his radio-affected voice works with long dramatic notes, for a musical style more suited to Lilith's supposed character.
2 Any Kind Of Song For Husk
Keith David shines singing "Loser, Baby," leaving everyone wanting more.
Husk claims the most stunning musical moment of Hazbin Hotel when he kicks off "Loser, Baby," with Angel ing in later. David's vocals are perfect for the tune and the lyrics brilliantly capture the biggest themes of the show. Sadly, this is the only major musical moment David gets. The composers might have wanted to reserve him for this one song — but that doesn't make fans stop wanting to hear more from him. Husk will need some solos next season, even incorporated into other characters' songs, or "Loser, Baby" will start to stick out as the only time he sings.
David has such an amazing voice that the composers can do almost anything with him, and it would be great. However, one possibility is a backstory song showing more of Husk's time as an Overlord. The style of this could lean into David's performance of "Friends on the Other Side," an underrated song from an animated Disney movie. Ironically, Husk and David's The Princess and the Frog character Dr. Facilier have some of the same beats, such as a propensity for gambling and dealing in souls.

While fans are waiting for Hazbin Hotel season 2 to release, they can enjoy similar shows like Good Omens, Invader Zim, or Scott Pilgrim Takes Off.
1 Charlie, Lucifer, & Lilith Trio
A song with Charlie and both her parents would contribute to Hazbin Hotel's story.
One of the complex storylines that will presumably be elaborated upon next season is Charlie's relationship with her parents and Lucifer and Lilith's relationship with each other. Charlie has a revealing song with her father in season 1 that paves the way for them to mend their relationship. The revelation that Lilith has allegedly been in Heaven for seven years could hurt her relationship with Charlie (depending on what Lilith's plan is), which seems to have been strong before.
Additionally, Charlie talks about a time when her parents were star-crossed lovers in her opening monologue. This means Lucifer and Lilith can be depicted as having lingering feelings for one another that clash with their different goals and methods. There is a lot of Morningstar family drama to sort through and feelings that can be expressed in song, as is the case with "More Than Anything." Hazbin Hotel season 2 promises to continue engaging storylines like this, accompanied by more showstopping music.
