George Santos’ Anger Could Help The HBO Movie

HBO was quick to get the rights to Chiusano’s book, as The Fabulist was released on November 28. Santos’ subsequent expulsion from Congress was probably what solidified HBO's interest in developing the project. While Santos’ fraught political history was already ripe for an interesting exploration of deceit and the American Dream, the fact that Santos then suffered this consequence turned the narrative into an even more engrossing character arc.

Santos' fiery response only further plays into his flippant and ridiculous character. After months of being caught in lies, there’s an irony to Santos being so concerned over the “reality of facts” of the HBO movie, which has yet to be written. Comments like these could be great fuel for the project, as including dialogue like this could point to Santos’ hypocrisy and buffoonery.
