A ton of movies and TV shows are being added to HBO Max throughout the month of July 2020. The streaming service, which launched in late May, is making another effort to bolster their library with notable titles. In addition to beloved classics, the streamer looks to be debuting a handful of recently released titles as well as a handful of Max Original series.

July will feature the second wave of content additions headlined by titles like DC movies are staying on HBO Max longer than expected. That said, here are the most notable movies and TV shows coming to HBO Max in July 2020 followed by the rest of what's coming.

Midway - July 4

Roland Emmerich's 2019 war drama, Midway, is heading to HBO just in time for the July 4th holiday. HBO Max subscribers will have instant access to the film detailing the turning point in WWII. Following the Attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. Pacific Fleet was diminished but still operational. Midway depicts the country's various counterattacks against the Japanese before planning the Battle of Midway. The stellar cast includes Ed Skrein, Patrick Wilson, Luke Evans, Aaron Eckhart, Nick Jonas, Darren Criss, Mandy Moore, Dennis Quaid, and Woody Harrelson. Much of the cast portrayed real figures in history who had a hand in the decisive naval battle.

Close Enough - July 9

Close Enough Animated Series

A new animated adult sitcom from J. G. Quintel is set to begin on July 9 as a Max Original. Close Enough was originally developed to air on TBS but the series was shelved to run exclusively on HBO Max. The sitcom follows Josh and Emily, a millennial married couple who lives in a Los Angeles duplex with their five-year-old daughter and divorced friends. Quintel voices the role of Josh while Gabrielle Walsh portrays Emily. The rest of the voice cast includes Jason Mantzoukas, Kimiko Glenn, Jessica DiCicco, James Adomian, and Danielle Brooks. Season 1 will consist of 13 episodes, running 11 minutes each.

Expecting Amy - July 9

Expecting Amy marks the second Max Original documentary to hit the streaming service. The special centers on comedian and actress, Amy Schumer, during her pregnancy. Schumer also serves as an executive producer on the show which will document a chapter of her life and career. Bridget Everett, Rachel Feinstein, Kevin Kane, and Kim Caramele are expected to appear in the documentary. Schumer notably married chef Chris Fischer in 2018 and the pair had their first child in May 2019.

Last Christmas - July 11

Those looking to celebrate Christmas in July will be happy to find that Last Christmas received mixed reviews, the chemistry between Clarke and Golding is a highlight.

The House Of Ho - July 16

The House of Ho HBO Max

The House of Ho is HBO Max's first original docies debuting on the streaming service. Inspired by Crazy Rich Asians, the series follows a wealthy Vietnamese-American family that lives in Houston, Texas. The docu-comedy puts the spotlight on Binh Ho, an immigrant to built a multi-million empire alongside his wife, Hue Ho. Their adult kids, Judy and Washington, will also be in focus as the luxurious lives of the Ho family take the front and center. Multiple other family will serve as recurring figures in the series.

Harriet - July 18

movie follows Harriet Tubman's life as escapes from slavery and assists in liberating hundreds of others through the Underground Railroad. Erivo was nominated for Best Actress at the 92nd Academy Awards for her performance as the historical figure.

Motherless Brooklyn - July 25

The 2019 neo-noir crime movie, Motherless Brooklyn, will close out July's big movie debuts on HBO and HBO Max. The film was written and directed by Edward Norton. The actor also stars as Lionel Essrog, a private investigator with Tourette syndrome who investigates the murder of his mentor and only friend. Set in 1957, Motherless Brooklyn is based on the 1999 novel of the same name by author Jonathan Lethem. The rest of the cast includes Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Bobby Cannavale, Cherry Jones, Alec Baldwin, and Willem Dafoe.
