In 2008, The Dark Knight was released to critical and commercial acclaim, with the late and great Heath Ledger putting his all into becoming The Joker in a way that defined the character for an entire generation and beyond. In a new cosplay of the Clown Prince of Crime, “Nurse Joker” gets a movie-accurate design that needs a proper comic debut, whether it be in official DC Comics canon or somewhere else in the company’s sprawling multiverse.

Posted on Reddit’s r/DCcomics channel by u/thechancellorj, this creator doesn’t have too many homemade costumes under his belt just yet, but with the way this Nurse Joker look came together, it shouldn’t take much for u/thechancellorj to make the jump to becoming a consistent member of the cosplay community.

Though u/thechancellorj is just starting, it can’t be denied that he’s a huge fan of Batman and The Joker, with his love for The Dark Knight trilogy front and center on his page, which no doubt led to the creation of this impeccably crafted Heath Ledger look.

“Nurse Joker” Cosplay Is the Perfect Design That DC Needs To Use in Their Comics Next

Joker dressed as a nurse in the hospital in The Dark Knight

Throwing multiple wrenches into Batman’s plans to save Gotham City in The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger’s Joker was a force to be reckoned with in every sense of the word, with his unpredictable antics and mysterious motivations making him a fan-favorite iteration of the character who rivaled Jack Nicholson’s Joker and made Joaquin Phoenix’s performance look tame in comparison. Infiltrating the hospital where a badly burned Harvey Dent resided, Joker’s nurse disguise gave him the freedom to strategically plant explosives around the building, a structure which he eventually brought down with a single (or rather double) push of a button.

Presented across three different images, u/thechancellorj’s Nurse Joker design not only nails the look and feel of the chaotic energy Heath Ledger exuded on the silver screen but with the harsh lighting and a darkened forest background seen in the first and last pic, gives this cosplay an uncomfortable and dangerous vibe that fits the character well. Dressed in a similar set of all-white nurse clothes as his movie counterpart, it’s the spot-on Joker makeup that fully sells this cosplay, with u/thechancellorj’s terrifyingly calm expression enhanced by his red mouth scars, ruffled green hair, and otherwise ghoulish look.

Unfortunately, this “Nurse Joker” outfit hasn’t made its debut on the page just yet, but with DC’s ever-expanding multiverse, its twisted Dark Multiverse lurking in the shadows underneath it all, and the recently birthed Absolute Universe putting fresh spins on iconic DC Comics heroes and villains, fans should never say never when it comes to getting a proper movie-accurate comic adaptation of this design. Despite The Dark Knight approaching its 15th anniversary, interest in Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning portrayal of The Joker is still as high as ever, making this cosplay by u/thechancellorj a treat that fans won’t soon forget.
