The link their s to the PlayStation Network to continue, something that some were reluctant to do, and also prevented entire regions from accessing the game.

With Sony reversing its decision to have compulsory linking, OmegaXesis took to the Helldivers subreddit to issue the major order "Operation Clean Up".

The order is simple, for players to consider reversing their negative Steam review. It's clear to all that, as a developer, Arrowhead's work on Helldivers 2 deserves praise, with some already praising it as being a potential Game of the Year contender for its regular updates that keep the Galactic War fresh and ongoing and the PSN linking issue seemingly being pushed more by Sony than Arrowhead itself.

Operation Clean Up Is Already Gaining Traction

Players Are Reversing Their Negative Reviews In Droves

If there's one thing the Helldivers community has proven, it's that it is extremely effective at working together to achieve a goal, whether this is in the game taking on Automaton and Terminid threats, or in the real world letting their voices be heard. Operation Clean Up is already gaining traction, with a follow-up post by GHQSTLY showing some of the positive reviews for Helldivers 2, mostly addressing the fact that Sony reversed its decision and "Democracy has been restored".

There seems to be a subtext that Sony will have to do a lot more to win over players and build any trust after this whole situation, however. Many reviews point out that it was Arrowhead who had the community's back, and directly warned Sony not to try such a stunt again.

Hopefully, now the community has made itself clear, it won't have to worry about such issues going forward and can focus on fighting the in-game opponents instead. With regular updates continuing to come to the game - including the arctic-based Polar Patriots Warbond, which launches on May 9 - there's plenty to look forward to in Helldivers 2's future.
