Arcane has been such a resounding hit with both audiences and critics that it has received rave reviews and will receive spinoff series. Cavill became so invested in it. He's no stranger to the fantasy genre, though Arcane manages to be just a bit better than his own Netflix show.

Cavill s the long list of people who hold the Netflix's Arcane in high regard. In an interview with BBC Radio 1, The Witcher actor revealed how he came across Arcane. Ali Plumb recommended the dark series to Cavill, who roped his wife into watching it with him. Like many fans of the series, the actor couldn't stop watching Arcane once he started and found himself engrossed in the League of Legends world. Given Cavill’s love of video games, Arcane was right up his alley.
Arcane is a great TV show, which makes binge-watching it easy, especially because it gets better with each episode. The fact that it is only two seasons long, with each having nine episodes, means it can be watched in a short period of time. The Witcher actor isn't the only one who's had high praise for Arcane. Renowned fantasy writer, Brandon Sanderson also had great things to say about Netflix's animated series.

The Witcher is undoubtedly an incredible show. The world-building, complex characters, and elaborate magic system in The Witcher are amazing. However, Arcane takes the top spot as Netflix's best fantasy TV show. Christian Linke and Alex Yee’s series is a rarity in the fantasy world. It's well-paced and perfectly blends fantasy and sci-fi. While some shows might taper off after the first season and lose what makes them so enjoyable, that doesn't happen with Arcane.

Arcane season 2 is just as good as its first season, and some might even argue it's better. Despite Love, Death + Robots, Castlevania, and Blood of Zeus earning their place as some of the best animated series on Netflix, Arcane is in a league of its own. The fantasy TV show has incredible characters who develop throughout the series. The tension and stakes in Arcane rise with each episode, which ensures that there are no dull moments in the show. It's excellently written with stunning visuals and memorable action scenes, cementing its legacy.
Arcane Accomplished What A Lot Of Live-Action Fantasy Shows Fail
Arcane Remained Consistently Good
There's a lot that goes into making a live-action fantasy series, from world-building to capturing each character’s nuances. So not every series can get it right, particularly because the quality of the story tends to waver as some fantasy shows go on, which might result in a cancellation or audiences losing interest. Arcane, however, only got better. Arcane season 1 was released in 2021, and there was a three-year wait between the two seasons, but it maintained its essence.
Arcane doesn't choose to explain itself as some fantasy shows tend to do, but instead focuses on fleshing out its characters and storyline.
With Arcane being adapted from a popular video game, there was a lot of pressure for it to succeed where others had failed. Fortunately, Arcane not only sured expectations, but it also proved that fantasy TV shows can remain consistent. Arcane doesn't choose to explain itself as some fantasy shows tend to do, but instead focuses on fleshing out its characters and storyline. Not a lot of fantasy shows have managed what Arcane has, except for the early seasons of Game of Thrones. Fortunately, there will be spinoffs of Arcane that will make up for the show's short tenure.
