Warning: contains spoilers for chapter 109 0r My Hero Academia: Vigilantes

While My Hero Academia Vigilantes has mostly kept itself occupied with its own separate plot, the machinations of major villain All for One are far-reaching. And as Vigilantes gets closer to its finale, some dangerous secrets about All for One's involvement are being set up in chapter 109.

Much of Vigilantes' story has dealt with the Midoriya's One for All vestiges appeared in the main series. Thus far, Number Six has seemingly operated according to his own agenda, despite still having access to the kind of resources that only All for One could provide. The question of how involved All for One has been in Six's chaos has been looming over the plot for some time.

In chapter 109, as Koichi continually evades Six's attacks, the O'Clock in his head tries to get Six to back down, declaring their intended mission a failure. When it becomes apparent that Six won't stop, however, the illusory O'Clock decides to watch how it plays out, to see the result of the "experiment," flashing the trademark All for One grin. In the main My Hero Academia manga, a vestige of All for One exists within Shigaraki, just as the vestiges of All Might and others exist in Midoriya, as a result of ing down quirks. While it's been long speculated whether this O'Clock was a vestige in the same sense or simply a hallucination from Six's damaged mind, this scene suggests that while it may be a vestige, there's a solid chance it isn't really O'Clock: it's All for One. Since All for One ed the quirk on, it makes sense that there would be some remnant of All for One within it as well. And while, as a hero, O'Clock's vestige would be very unlikely to help Six, All for One's certainly would.

This implication raises a lot of questions. In the main series, the remnants of All for One inside Shigaraki are able to hijack his body and take it over. We've also seen that should someone down their quirk and continue to live, like All Might, they have some degree of awareness of that piece of their consciousness which exists as a vestige. Is All for One directly monitoring Six in this way? And if a bit of his consciousness is ed on with each quirk, would that mean that a being with multiple quirks like Six has a larger portion of All for One's consciousness within him? Since My Hero Academia Vigilantes is set before the main series, this may be the first time All for One put this ability to use.

Of course, there's one more big consequence of this: if every person All for One has given a quirk to carries some part of him, even nomu, then All for One's awareness of the world is extensive, to say the least. And if the heroes' goal is to wipe out all traces of All for One, they may have set themselves up with an impossible task. What all this means for Koichi and My Hero Academia Vigilantes remains to be seen, but it certainly doesn't bode well for the My Hero Academia world at large.
