Warning: this article contains SPOILERS for High Potential episode 10, "Chutes and Murders."High Potential’s success as The Good Doctor’s replacement is no doubt due in part to their dynamic partnership.

With all the underlying mysteries and family drama perforating Morgan’s life, romance has been on the back burner. Though she and Tom (JD Pardo) had a brief fling, Morgan had too much on her plate to earnestly pursue a new flame. Regardless, each scene with Morgan and Karadec only further showcases the immense romantic potential they have. Instead of rushing their romance, however, High Potential season 2 can be spent letting the tension build.

High Potential Episode 10 Is The First Time That Morgan & Karadec's Chemistry Is Acknowledged

The Partners Are Mistaken For A Married Couple

Morgan (Kaitlin Olson), Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), and Chuck (Ken Marino) in High Potential episode 10, "Chutes and Murders."

Morgan and Karadec’s banter alone is enough reason to watch High Potential, but their romantic tension runs as an undercurrent throughout the pilot season. Yet, High Potential has inexplicably tried to them off as purely platonic leading up to episode 10. Blissfully, High Potential conceded their flirty dynamic when Ken Marino’s Chuck immediately assumes Morgan is Karadec’s wife upon meeting her for the first time. Though the pair are quick to brush it off, Morgan and Karadec’s interactions felt like an old married couple for the rest of the episode.

Even High Potential’s dialogue is starting to veer into overtly flirtatious territory. While on their impromptu “stakeout,” Morgan holds out her sandwich for Karadec to bite into. After he insists they keep a low profile, Morgan jokingly compares their situation to the infamous diner scene from When Harry Met Sally. Regardless of the joking tone, setting up a parallel between them and one of the most well-known romantic comedies of all time suggests that a relationship between Morgan and Karadec is approaching inevitability in High Potential.

Unfortunately, Morgan & Karadec's Potential Romance Won't Happen For A While

They Need A Slow-Burn Romance To Succeed

Despite their clear chemistry, the timing is all wrong for Morgan and Karadec to start dating immediately. Morgan is still investigating her missing ex-husband, and she’s only just beginning to learn High Potential proved that her work will always come first. Lucky for Karadec, he comes with the job.

Compounded with the trials and tribulations of raising three children, Morgan isn’t in a stable enough place to dive headfirst into a new romance. Though Karadec will undoubtedly be a perfect fit in her chaotic life one day, that day isn’t coming anytime soon. In the meantime, Morgan and Karadec’s slow-burn romance can continue simmering. At least High Potential has finally itted the obvious tension between its two leads — that's progress right there.
