Deadline confirms that Olson's hit adaptation is on the move, noting that High Potential season 1 will return from its hiatus on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 9 PM ET. This is a new timeslot for the show which has so far aired at 10 PM ET. The new timeslot pairs High Potential with another detective drama, Will Trent season 3, which airs at 9 PM ET. The Rookie season 7, meanwhile, closes out the night at 10 PM ET. All three series will remain available to stream on Hulu, with new episodes dropping the next day.

The premise of High Potential sees three-time Emmy-nominee Olson in the role of Morgan Gillory. After helping the police solve a difficult case and pointing them to the right subject, thanks to the help of her intellectual skills, Morgan is asked to work as a consultant with the seasoned Detective Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). With a main cast that includes Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb, and Judy Reyes, the adaptation averages over 10 million viewers per episode across all platforms.

Drawing strong reviews, High Potential pairs nicely with Will Trent season 3, which is another detective about a person who has a unique ability to solve crimes but questionable social skills. Furthermore, it was long speculated that ABC would want to pair the two shows together. Now that it has unveiled its new schedule, the shifting makes sense.

The adaptation of the French series hails from several creative voices. Likely due to a combination of the TV vets behind the camera and Olson's ease in the lead role, High Potential season 2 is all but guaranteed. Plus, it'll do well in a new timeslot.
