Hitman being made free on the Epic Games Store isn’t the only news that’s tied the series to Epic recently. Earlier today, developer IO Interactive revealed that Hitman 3 is an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC. That news may have disappointed some fans, but probably not as much as the announcement that it was dropping Ghost Mode as well as shutting off the mode’s servers for Hitman 2. On the other hand, Hitman 3 will also bring the series into VR, so fans will have a brand-new experience to look forward to even as they lose an old one.
The Epic Games Store’s weekly free game giveaway may well be the best deal in PC gaming right now. There are plenty of ways to score free or cheap games on PC, but with modern classics like Hitman and Shadowrun on offer, there’s no source of free games that’s nearly as consistent.
