A new job listing from Avalanche Studios, the developer behind Hogwarts Legacy, seems to indicate a new title is already in the works. The long-time studio is a subsidiary of WB Games, which means it has access to all other Warner Brothers IP alongside Harry Potter. Although wildly popular, at this time no plans have been officially announced for any follow-up releases for Hogwarts Legacy or games for any other properties.

A job listing for a Software Engineer position on the Warner Bros. Discovery website - which has since either been edited or taken down - indicated that whoever took the job would be working on an unannounced AAA console title. Within the job description, duties like "develop gameplay systems" and "develop and maintain tools for production of AAA game titles" were listed, which further imply the building of a new game from the ground up. There is now a similar post on the Warner Bros. Discovery careers page with the same duties, but the text about an unannounced AAA title is not present.

Avalanche's New Game Could Be Hogwarts Legacy DLC

Warner Bros Job Listing for a software engineer.

While already an incredibly expansive game, there are multiple DLCs for Hogwarts Legacy that seem to have been set up within the title. It was a great disappointment to many Harry Potter fans that Quidditch wasn't included in the release, and a future addition to the game featuring the sport would not be surprising. Hogwarts Legacy could also potentially receive a DLC centered around Azkaban - currently, only Hufflepuff students briefly journey to the prison for a side quest, and it would make sense to make a new release for the game that allows all players to experience the location regardless of house.

Avalanche & WB Games Could Tackle An Entirely New IP

As a subsidiary of WB Games, Avalanche has a myriad of new franchises it could tackle outside the Harry Potter universe. One of the biggest contenders is a new Lord of the Rings game, which could feature an open world similar to Hogwarts Legacy. However, WB Games also owns the rights to make games based around IPs like Batman, Adventure Time, and The Matrix, all of which have great potential for new AAA releases.

Considering the listing has either been removed or edited, it's possible Avalanche did so in order to make its future plans a bit more confidential. After the rousing success of Hogwarts Legacy, it's inevitable that the studio has ambitious plans of some kind, but unfortunately it may be awhile before players learn anything about it. Whether it's a new DLC for Hogwarts Legacy or something entirely different, fans should keep their eye on Avalanche and WB Games.
