There is so much fun looking content that the developers of Hogwarts Legacy have included, yet there is still one beloved piece of the Harry Potter universe that seems to be left out, which no doubt would have left Harry very upset. Hogwarts Legacy promises to give players an interactive wizarding school experience, and the ability to learn spells and defeat evil is all well and good, but there is still a regrettably missing piece.
Hogwarts Legacy is looking as though it will be the best-selling game out of every Harry Potter video game, including the beloved movie tie-in games. Weeks before its release, it was already topping sales charts from preorders alone. Though clearly it is highly anticipated, many fans are still hoping that DLC will make up for what it doesn't have.
Harry Potter Would Hate That Hogwarts Legacy Doesn't Let Players Play Quidditch
Harry Potter was the youngest Quidditch Seeker in a century, and yet if he were to play Hogwarts Legacy, he wouldn't even be able to try Quidditch. The video game does have the Quidditch pitch represented, and even some Quidditch outfits available, but no playable sport. Possibly it will be added as a minigame in the future, but for now, Harry would have to settle for flying around the pitch and only dreaming of a Snitch.
Not Including Playable Quidditch In Hogwarts Legacy Is A Mistake
Given the popularity of Quidditch, not including it as a minigame or other playable feature of Hogwarts Legacy is an unfortunate decision. Though there's an argument to be made that playable Quidditch should be left out of Hogwarts Legacy, the grand presence it holds in the wizarding world makes its absence very noticeable. The official Hogwarts Legacy FAQ page states that though Quidditch is not playable, there are broom race challenges and other fun means of broom riding experiences. There are no further details or hints on whether Quidditch may come later or not, however.
Harry Potter may have frowned upon Avalanche Software and Warner Bros.' decision to not include Quidditch as a playable sport, but perhaps other players may be able to overlook this for now and enjoy the multitude of other fun features of Hogwarts Legacy. With the Quidditch Pitch, outfits, and the broom flying ability already in place in the game, it is entirely possible that the sport of Quidditch could be added as future DLC or expansion to Hogwarts Legacy.
