A recent Hogwarts Legacy gameplay showcase showed off a wide range of magical activities that should keep players immersed in the Wizarding World for some time. The exciting open-world adventure will take Harry Potter fans to a unique 1890s version of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry so they can attend classes, master spells and fight back against a violent Goblin Rebellion. Developer Avalanche Software recently showed off nearly an hour of new Hogwarts Legacy gameplay, and this showcase revealed plenty of engaging optional content to keep fans occupied.

The extensive Hogwarts Legacy gameplay showcase, which has been posted to YouTube by Hogwarts Legacy, shows off some of the side activities that players will encounter throughout its open world. In Hogwarts Legacy the protagonist begins as a fifth-year student, despite being brand-new to the school, so a mystical Field Guide is issued to help the player character catch up to their peers. The Field Guide contains various different Challenges which reward the player with experience for performing feats during combat, exploring the world and completing quests. Collecting lost Field Guide Pages strewn across the open world, either using Revelio or other spells, is another specific Challenge that also sheds light on the lore of Hogwarts.

Alongside hidden Hogwarts Legacy castle secrets like the Field Guide Pages, the open-world wizardry simulator will include various side quests that players can accept from professors or fellow students. These optional missions appear to be robust and varied, acting as an avenue to further explore the Hogwarts grounds and build relationships with its inhabitants. One student named Nellie Oggspire tasks players with catching enchanted keys and using them to open specific locked cabinets, for example, while Zenobia Noke asks players to find her missing Gobstones. Accepting and completing these side quests will apparently alter the story of Hogwarts Legacy, and a player's choices can allegedly impact the game's ending too.

In addition to collectibles and side quests, Hogwarts Legacy has magic classes that players may choose to attend to enhance their spells and mystical knowledge. While some classes are attended as a mandatory part of the narrative, there are also optional extracurricular class missions that grant access to more unique abilities and help develop the player's various professors. The game's recreation of the Wizarding World is also very immersive, so fans can the time by simply engaging in leisurely activities or roaming the halls and alleys of the Harry Potter universe. The spell-based combat system in Hogwarts Legacy is also said to be very deep, with a wide variety of different spells to acquire, which should keep the adventure engaging and fun for quite some time.

From each unique Hogwarts Legacy common room to the cobblestone streets of Hogsmeade, the open-world Harry Potter game seems to be packed with content for players to discover. Field Guide Pages will be hidden around every inch of the open world, and robust side quests will help players form strong bonds with their Hogwarts professors and peers. Combined with in-depth magical combat and a fascinating main story, Hogwarts Legacy can hopefully immerse players in the Wizarding World for an entire school year.
