The latest Hollow Knight: Silksong theory is here and it involves doughnuts. The highly anticipated sequel to hit 2017 Souslike Metroidvania Hollow Knight finally has a release window after six long years of waiting, but fans have been trying to narrow it down to the exact release date. Some new evidence has come to light that may hint at the exact release date of Silksong, and it's as cryptic as ever.

Hollow Knight co-creator William Pellen, known as Little Bomey on X, has posted a new tweet, mysteriously stating: "yesterday's doughnuts, make my dog go nuts." Previous tweets have all been riddle-like hints about news for Silksong, and fans believe that this posts is no different. In fact, Reddit RennugunneR believes that they have the tweet figured out, and that it indicates that Hollow Knight: Silksong could potentially be coming out on April 29, 2025 if their reasoning is correct.

Little Bromey Speaks In Riddles

Redditor RennugunneR has done some digging based on the X post, and has discovered that a British magazine named Go Nuts released its final issue on April 29. On its own, this connection is flimsy, but other fans have noticed another bit of evidence that may confirm this finding. When the games section of Steam is organized by release date, Silksong sits right between two games releasing on April 29, indicating that its internal release date on Steam is listed as that date.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Devs Assure Kickstarter Backers They'll Still Be Getting Their Keys, After 6 Years Of Silence

Team Cherry has updated Kickstarter backers about Hollow Knight: Silksong now that it's finally on the way, after years of anticipation.

It would be too far-fetched to believe, except it's happened before. In January, Little Bromey changed his profile picture on X to a picture of a chocolate cake. It may seem innocuous, but the Silksong community was quick to hunt down the origin of the cake picture and determine that the picture was hinting at Silksong's appearance in the April 2 Nintendo Direct, which turned out to be the case. Little Bromey frequently posts mysterious riddles, and they often do turn out to be meaningful, so an April 29 release for Silksong is, surprisingly, very possible.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Remains One Of The Most Highly Anticipated Games

Fans Have Been Waiting For Six Years

Hollow Knight Silksong

When Silksong was first revealed in 2019, it was meant to arrive "soon." The release window was pushed back further and further, until Team Cherry went quiet a few years back and stopped sharing updates with fans. The announcement that the game would finally be released in 2025 for all consoles, including the Nintendo Switch 2, came at a time when the community had started losing hope that they would ever get to play the game.

However, it now seems that the believes were right to keep the hope alive, as Team Cherry prepares to release their highly anticipated sequel to the beloved first game. Hollow Knight: Silksong is currently the most wishlisted game on inZOI) as it seems the excitement hasn't died down a bit even after six years in limbo. A predicted release date of April 29 would be amazing, but I think fans would be happy with any 2025 release date as long as they finally get to actually play the game they've been waiting years for.
