Even though drop rates in Honkai: Star Rail, they may get new heroes to add to their party.
With the live-service game being at the very beginning of its life cycle, each new version adds a decent number of heroes, and the characters in Honkai: Star Rail 1.3 have been teased weeks ahead of the release of Version 1.2. Although they have not been officially confirmed as the featured characters in 1.3’s limited-time banners, they have been formally introduced with character descriptions and gameplay details. It is relevant to point out that HoYoverse often announces new characters for its games nearly two versions prior to their release, so the new characters boasted by the company are very likely coming out in Version 1.3.
Imbibitor Lunae, Fu Xuan, & Lynx Are Teased For Honkai: Star Rail 1.3 Character Banners
HoYoverse officially revealed the character known as Imbibitor Lunae through a post made on the official Honkai: Star Rail profile on Twitter. The character seems like an alternate form of Dan Heng, and is described as a 5-star Imaginary character that follows the Path of the Destruction. Later, HoYoverse announced Fu Xuan through the Honkai: Star Rail Twitter profile. The post reveals that she is a 5-star Quantum character that follows the Path of the Preservation. The Honkai: Star Rail 1.3 character banners may also include the 4-star hero Lynx, as announced by the Honkai: Star Rail Twitter – Lynx is Gepard and Serval's sister.
Who Imbibitor Lunae Is In Honkai: Star Rail
According to the official reveal post, Imbibitor Lunae is the High Elder of the Xianzhou Luofu flagship. This new Honkai: Star Rail character is of the vidyadhara race – for reference, this is the same species as Bailu and a few other less important inhabitants of the Luofu. He is also the guardian of the Ambrosial Arbor aboard the flagship. Imbibitor Lunae is not this character’s true name, but an important title bestowed upon him by those who revere his powers and role on the Luofu. This is not a completely new character in the universe of Honkai: Star Rail, however.
As pointed out by a Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 leak, Imbibitor Lunae is actually Dan Heng’s true form, one that he has been holding back ever since he was expelled from the Xianzhou Luofu – the exact reason he left and ed the Nameless is still unknown. There has been a slight tease to Dan Heng’s Imbibitor Lunae form in-game, though it is easily missable. When trying to avoid Bronya’s order of arrest in the Fragmentum on Jarilo-VI’s Belobog, March 7th quickly mentions that Dan Heng should use his “secret strength” to help them escape. This is possibly a reference to the character in Honkai: Star Rail 1.3.
So far, little else is actually known about Imbibitor Lunae in Honkai: Star Rail. It is expected that this character will finally be introduced in the game itself through the series of new story missions that are planned for Version 1.2. It is uncertain if Dan Heng will remain in his human or Imbibitor Lunae following the events of the update, but it is expected that he will play a huge part in the campaign’s progression and in aiding the Trailblazer impede the Stellaron’s wave of Abundance-based destruction aboard the Xianzhou Luofu.
Who Fu Xuan Is In Honkai: Star Rail
The other new character teased for Honkai: Star Rail 1.3 is Fu Xuan. This character has appeared a multiple number of times during the game’s missions and has already been officially introduced. The post made by HoYoverse highlights that Fu Xuan is the leader of the Divination Commission on the Xianzhou Luofu. Players first met her when arresting Kafka after an intense boss fight. In the cutscene, she uses her third eye and the power of foresight to predict Kafka’s move and then proceeds to capture her. Fu Xuan is later seen again when organizing the Mutare Magnus puzzles in order to adequately interrogate Kafka.
By mixing her own powers with the Matrix of Prescience, Fu Xuan is responsible for the Xianzhou’s route, and is consulted to predict events that may take place. This new playable character in Honkai: Star Rail 1.3 also has a professional relationship with General Jing Yuan. Fu Xuan restlessly waits for his retirement to occupy his post. On several occasions, she is seen mentioning that Jing Yuan should leave his job and that she is ready to take over his responsibilities.
It is uncertain exactly what role she will play in the story and how her gameplay will be, but Fu Xuan will, like Imbibitor Lunae, be very important for the Xianzhou Luofu arc. She is actively aiding Jing Yuan on his quest to locate and capture the Stellaron hidden aboard the flagship. Fu Xuan may also be essential in recapturing Kafka or Blade after their t escape performance on the Matrix of Prescience Ultima’s main platform. Players will have to wait for Honkai: Star Rail 1.2’s main story quests to know for sure, nevertheless.
Honkai: Star Rail 1.3’s Characters Banners May Be The Best So Far
If Imbibitor Lunae and Fu Xuan are, in fact, the featured characters in Honkai: Star Rail 1.3, they may actually constitute the best character banner spread so far, regardless of the order they are presented in. Imbibitor Lunae is an Imaginary DPS character. Not only will he be the game’s fourth Imaginary character, thus expanding a rather limited elemental roster, but Imbibitor Lunae will also assume a fully-dedicated damage role, which does not exist within the current selection of Imaginary heroes. At the moment, the best Imaginary DPS character is Welt, and that is not even his specialty, as he follows the Path of the Nihility.
Something similar can be said about Fu Xuan. As a Quantum character who follows the Path of the Preservation, she covers two scarce posts. There are not too many Quantum characters available in the game, and it is a very common weakness among enemies at higher levels. In addition to that, she offers a new possibility for shield builds, as the current options are Gepard, Trailblazer (Fire), and March 7th. If Fu Xuan is featured in a character banner in Honkai: Star Rail 1.3 along with Imbibitor Lunae, the duo will constitute a rare opportunity of expanding a player’s roster tactically in one single update.
